2ss vs BRZ

LOL, before anyone screams at me I am just weighting options as far as what is more , FUN. Forget about power and focus on handling and fun. Would a BRZ be as fun as the 2ss on the street. It is half the cost. Has anyone here driven the BRZ?

.....ok. Hope you are well insulated!!!
That being said, I would imagine the BRZ would be fun as heck! Like the old saying goes. "Its more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow".
The Camaro will destroy in absolutely EVERY category(excluding price, depending on options), but a loaded BRZ would be a blast to just play around in. In (pseudo)rich-man fantasy world.

I just traded in my 2014 BRZ for a 6th Gen. Handling is fantastic on the BRZ and has significantly more road feel than a 6th Gen, but after two and a half years of ownership I couldn't deal with its downsides. TONS of road noise, terrible gas mileage for a car that weighs 2700 lbs, and no torque whatsoever. I would have to drop 2 gears just to pass people on the freeway as all the car's power is above 5000 RPM.

The handling is great, don't get me wrong, but unless you are carving canyons every day, its similar to driving any other 4 cyl econo-car

I would think a v6 1le would be a great choice if you can't decide between those two.

Compare the BRZ with the 2.0T at the very least. Not the SS.. :/

With that said, mine on lowering springs on factory 275 can def. handle! It may not feel light and nimble but def. handles really well, turning with confidence. Put bigger tires on the SS, best of both worlds. Period.

Relative has a 10 series frs and I let them drive mine, they loved it and one of the reasons besides handling they liked was the LT1

The only thing that makes the brz fun is it's lack of grip since it has Prius tires.

Very different cars of course but they are both fun in different ways. The Camaro SS makes the right V8 sounds we all love, it has gobs of torque for effortless power to get you moving and it handles extremely well. It is not as light and tossable as an FRS/BRZ but the Camaro has evolved into more of a sports car/muscle car and handles much better than people think it will. The FRS is a lot of fun if you have a place to drive with a lot of twisties. It is more of a momentum car where you try to keep you speed up through the turns rather than depending on lots of torque to get you out of the corners. The Camaro is a much more refined car than the twins, more and better tech, better powerplant, better transmission, much better interior, etc.

I wouldn't compare the FRS to the Camaro, I would compare it to the Miata. The Miata will provide even more fun than the FRS. It is even lighter at 2300lbs and you get the convertible factor. It is also quicker than a FRS and has roughly the same torque but at a much more usable rpm for the street.

Before I traded in my 2010 Camaro on a 2014 Camaro I looked at a Scion FRS. I was not impressed, the interior was cheap looking and feeling, and the cockpit was way too small. I admit it did feel peppy, but got the 2014 Camaro 2LT instead.

Of course not long after that I traded the 2014 in on my 2016 2SS.

The BRZ is basically the same level of fun as the last generation Miata (not the current one because that new one is on a higher level).

I would also argue that the new Camaro might outhandle the BRZ and will likely win almost every contest of speed. That's how good the new chassis is combined with MRC.
