Chevy shipping cars without semi conductors to dealers!

And the mechanics will have to install the parts when they come in.

With the MASSIVE incompetence of GM dealership mechanics this is going to be a big mess!

AFM and start/stop? I dont think dealer is going to install them later. Btw some of Dodge customers received new vehicle with just one key. Manufacturers just have no choices.

I have no idea where this came from. I work for GM at the Silverado/Sierra assembly plant and the only trucks shipped without the chips are slightly cheaper because the AFM isn't installed and won't be by the dealer. We have them stockpiled and are now starting to get the extra chips and working 7 days a week to get caught up. We don't ship trucks and trust dealers to fix them.

I drag race at WWT Raceway in Madison Illinois and there are over 10,000 Colorado's and Canyon's setting at that race track. Then supposedly in Troy Mo there are over 12,000 Silverado's and Sierra's sitting in a rock quarry. My dealership in Columbia Mo has about 8 new trucks sitting on the lot and they usually keep about 250 or so plus they are out of SUV's, sedans, etc. Their service department is seeing 130 vehicles a day. My Corvette has gone up 13k since I bought it April 2020 so its crazy times in the auto industry.

I’m surprised the UAW would even allow this. I used to work for GM in the 90s as an engineer. We had modules from a first run with bad code. We flew to Canada to replace the boxes on a ~100 cars and the UAW would only let us watch as their guys did the work. We stood outside and watched through the passenger window

This isn't "new" as it has been discussed. GM has been building vehicles all along but not finishing them because of the chip shortage. With stock on the lots of trucks basically dropping to zero, they had to ship what they had even though the fuel management controls were missing.

GM is going to give the customer a measly $50 credit and let them drive around WITHOUT the fuel management benefits. They aren't going to install the parts later.

I'm surprised the -EPA- would allow this.

His channel is for clicks and revenue, nothing else. The only way you get that is sensationalization, twisting of facts, and straight out lying.

Maybe the alternative was that the factory would have to shut down completely?
