Bad autocross tire idea?
I need some help talking me into or out of this idea please. I have a 17 1 le and have worn out stock tires in 3700 miles. Ran 5 events at a concrete venue and one event was co driven. Fronts and rears are wearing pretty evenly with maxed out neg camber. The car is going to have heads cam Intake e85 headers All specced by pray for max torque and another usable 500 to 700 rpm up top. I tend to steer with the throttle and I'm worried that having only a 305 19 inch re71 won't be enough tire with 530lb ft of torque. So I was thinking of running bfg rival 18inch in 335 width and running 305 bridgestone on 19 inch wheel up front. So has anyone mixed tire brands and how'd it work out. Also I do want to stay with the mag ride as it's so nice for daily driving so 18 inch fronts are out because of that. Any input or suggestions much appreciated

You don't want that kind of difference in overall diameter between the front and rear. The RE71R puts power down really well, I doubt it's much worse than a 335 once you factor in the gearing difference.

Yeah the diameter difference and negative rake make it a no go I would think.
Put the 305 on a 12 in the back and an 11 up front and you should be on par with the 335. Forgive my ignorance, why don't the 18s clear the Mag Ride?

Thanks guys. Good to hear that the Bridgestone put down the power well. The diameter difference is 26.2 for the 19 bridgestone and 25.9 for the 18 inch bfg so I thought that might work out ok. On a side note I haven't been able to find diameters on the factory goodyears to see how close they are

I suspect it's more about differences in breakaway characteristics than in any 1%-ish differences in diameter/rake/revs-per-mile.
