Yeah I managed to ruin the string on the soft open, and you need to be a braille contortionist to change the thing. The new one is sitting in my toolbox.

I use a wonder bar and have never had a problem, I pull the cord and attach channel locks so it doesn't get lost, pry on the rh side just enough to release the hold and pry the lh side and it pops right open. never taken more than a couple minutes.

I used a hacksaw blade and cut a little off the plastic thing that holds the box up. Now it is easy, just a little easy pry. No more feeling like I'm going to break something, easier on the box too. I like the $10 super tech filter because it flows air good. I replace at about every 10 k miles.

Yup. Interestingly, it's the same on some other GM cars, they have caps on each side that work like miniature quarter-turn oil caps, easy-peasy. This glovebox, however, feels like it has to be demolished to pry out

Now that is a genius idea, thank you

I finally realized I don't need Teflon tape on the Camaro oil drain plug, thank you.

Followed this video and was done in less than 10 minutes. Key is not to pry both tabs at the same time.

Easy Peasy! Haven't changed mine yet (as I 95% of the time drive with the windows open and the Environmental System off)and I only have 9,500 miles so I' guessing mine looks pretty new...

This looks very similar to changing all the Cabin Air Filters in all my Hyundai/Kias (except for the soft open cord)...
