You sir are a genius. I wish I knew that when I was shopping used. Instead I spent a few hours searching the internet on how to decipher the VIN for PDR.

I can't believe that the GVWR is that specific!

You would think if GM is that careful about two pounds that it would go the other way with the PDR cars having two pounds less load capacity and the same GVWR.

It puts the iPhone / Android displays on the mylink screen. I use it for nav when needed. Music app icons, text message, phone, Pandora, iheart, maps. I’m sure I’m missing one or two but that’s the gist. Pretty much “projects” the phone display to the mylink.

That's cool, I'll have to try it. Only put 500 miles on mine before it went into hibernation. There's a bunch of things I didn't get to play with on the car yet. Going to be a long winter and will need a ton of rain to wash all the salt off the roads. :-/

Linked a video to help explain it. I know the feeling. My two are out away in my detached garage. I can’t wait for the weather to change!! I’m sure I’m not alone!!

I would not pay more than $33K for a used 1LE at this point, and I am pretty sure I could find a few at that price.

A dealer starting at $28K for trade sounds like a fair starting point to me. Don't buy new if you don't plan on keeping the car long term.
Leasing is the way to go. You don't give a flip if it drops below the residual value at the end of the lease. You give them the keys and walk away. So now we know that a $45,000.00 1LE is worth $28,000.00 after one year for a dealer trade. Holy shit that is a massive hit in the pocketbook would be crazy to do traditional finance and be upside down by $17,000.00 the first year. Even if you got some discounts, you would still be upside down by $14,000.00. Wait another year, and you will be able to pick up a used 1LE SS for $27,000.00 at CARMAX LOL.

I see one-year-old Gen 6 ZL1 selling for $50,000.00 in another 2 years will be at $36,000.00 now that will be one hell of a deal!

I always buy used , I bought my 40k SS for 28 grand with only 12,000 miles on it .

If you guys think our cars are bad ... my buddy just bought a z06 for 65k ( ORIGINALLY WENT FOR 100 GRAND ) and the former owner just put a deposit on a new ZR1 for 145,000 $ I know in a year that ZR1 will be going for 90-110k that a 40 k hit

GM toyotas and Hondas are actually good for residual value , but your aways going to take the biggest hit the first year .

I remember ten years ago the car dealer I worked for , the owner bought a 440,000 Lamborghini lp640 convertible ( one of the first ever ) one year later that Rossi vik took over a 100,000 DOLLAR HIT on residual Value !!!

We love these cars but the first year is always gonna be the worse .

Low trade offer? Who knew? This is nothing new...is anyone really suprised? What did u think a used camaro is worth.. if it bothers anyone that bad buy a used 1.. then you can brag about what a great deal you got instead of bashing the dealer.. Nobody forced you to buy new...

Depends on mileage But ive already seen ZL1's go for 40k-45k range with 35000 miles on them .
Ive seen Dodge smell cats with a shitload of miles beat to hell go for high 30's
Zr1's C6 go for 50-65 grand , they are holding their value and so are the GTR's

Its a supply and demand issue . If they go for high prices at the auction MMR ( ZR1's and GTR's there gonna sell at high on the retail side )

Good thing about Z06's (c 7 corvette ) and ZL1's ( Gen6 ) they make a lot of them so there will be good supply but also a great demand .

In the following year 2019 and 2020 I forecast you can get A used low mileage ZL1 for mid 40's and a 1LE Zl1 probably in the high 40's to low 50's ( depends on mileage & carfax & condition )

Bargain basement deal on a beater ZL1 thats high mileage and been in a fender bender maybe high 30's in two years ??

Why wait, this is a pretty good indicator:

https://www.cars.com/for-sale/search...56007&zc=07438

I was shopping used for a '17 1LE, but for that specific model it was slim pickings around me and no real deals to be found. Closest dealer wanted over $40K, second closest (2 hours away) were asking $42K. At that point it made sense to buy new.
