Shifting Issue / Differential Groan

I just dropped off my 2016 for shifting issues and while there told them about the rear end groan. My bumper to bumper warranty is out and only have powertrain left. I hope they can fix these issues. The torque converter has already been replaced due to the shudder but now it shifts rough randomly. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Well the results weren't what I expected. The shifting issue I was having ended up being a TSB on the adaptive learning. Since I was out of bumper to bumper warranty, if I wanted the shifts to be reset it was going to cost me. It didn't do it all the time so I left it as is. The tech that worked on my car was a Camaro/Corvette powertrain technician. He explained the adaptive learning in great detail and it made sense. The groaning in the rear would only happen in the morning while turning on a cold start. So when I went on a test drive with him the next morning, it only did it once out of 10 turns. His recommendation was to change out the differential fluid to the newer fluid. I decided to go with it. So far it hasn't done it anymore in the last 3 days.

I had the groan in my 1LE V6... took it to the dealer had the fluid changed just before the car was parked for the winter... brought it out this week, heard the groan again and now not only on cold mornings... late afternoon and warm... not liking this ...

Same problem here with the groan. It sounds like a loud low-pitched metal on metal groaning noise. Obviously, something is happening.

update.... groan got worse.. loud on backing up and tight turns.. took to dealer, tech who sat in the car as I backed it up said that car is un-driveable.. had to leave it at dealership

they kept it for 2 days.. called and say to pick up ...problem is solved... changed the diff oil again...
loud noise is gone on backing up and turns... low groan on first drive still there tho...

Well the groan is back every morning. So much for replacing the fluid. Since it only does it in the mornings, I'm leaving it alone now.

Just dropped mine off at the shop today for the groan. Same symptoms as others. I only hear it on the first couple of cold turns.

I changed my rear diff fluid a couple of months ago (on ramps) and that fixed the problem for me.
