So we tested some Capacitor for the right uf amount, with that said today we went out in the ZLE, where able to get the unit to go off with any amount of drifting from the rear wheels, then installed the new harness with the right size Capacitor in line and after 10 tries the unit never shut off, Now the best test is to go on the track and see if it goes off in that setting, i dont have a a track date till late next month, with that said we are sending a test unit to a member for some feed back in the mean time.
I see one member revived the new harness. My question is where does this harness plug in to? And I still have the original harness and the one that goes into the ac controls. When can we expect the updated harness to be available for shipping?

Thanks a lot for the update. When are you planning to update your website (I still see the caveat about Uniden detectors)? In other words, if I place an order now, will I get the new harness?

Apparently the 2019 is different FYI, they are waiting to test the 2016-2018 fix on a 2019 and if it works they will be shipping those for 2019's...otherwise I suspect back to the drawing board. Mine cut out twice today. :(

Update the unit we sent out for the 2016-18 works, so now we have 2 cars that it works on, with that said i think we are good to go, on all 2016-18 cars with the Uniden R3, our site now has the products up if you want to buy them.

All member that have our harness let us know ( email us at sales@gen5diy.com ) and will work with you to exchange your old harness to the new one.

To all the members that have a 2019-Up cars the same fix will work on your car, but the harness is not the same, GM is running all the wires to the mirror on the BCM computer so if it sees any more power draws then its programed to see it shuts of the power off and thats why we had to redesign our 2019 harness to where we can get power, but it to needed the new fix for the Uniden R3.

At this time there all done and ready to go.

It's been driving me crazy as I'll occasionally look up after driving for a few minutes and the R7 is just turned off and I have to hit the power button to fire it back up again. I actually thought it might be the BAT Saver function which I then turned off but it's still happening.

So IF you sent me the new harness which I am guessing you couldn't have if you just fixed it, then it's not resolved for the R7 at least.

If you have a fix, I assume I will be able to swap the harness I have for the updated version so that I can stop having this issue?

Thanks again for the great service in trying to solve a weird intermittent issue.

First congrats in the new ride, its the best car to test out power loss when you get the rear end loss, LOL we dont have a R7 to test with, if when you get the new harness let me know if it fixes your problem we know for the next one.

Thanks a lot for your work

Just ordered a new harness because I've had the old one for well over a year and it feels totally unfair to demand a new one just because I'm planning to buy a Uniden.

Just sent you guys an email, I'm willing to be the test donkey to see if the new 2019 harness works with my R7.

Thanks for working with us Ofer and Jarod.

Jarod helped me get a replacement order/swap going. As always great service and products.

Can’t wait to see y’all at Fest again.

Does this also apply to the radar detector harness with a go-pro connector? I had noticed my R3 turning itself a few times and thought there was something wrong with it. I was about to contact Uniden when I ran accross this thread. Do you have a revised harness with the go-pro connector?
