This is the oil that is sold in the states.

(edit)Image too small. it says ESP formula.
Thank you! Indeed i had gone back to the Mobil1 brochure that lists the oil as "ESP Formula"". Not sure if the just "ESP" oil still exists, but just in case it would make sense to play it safe and call it by its full name.

BTW Valvoline MST is also a low SAPS oil. Here is its info blurb:

Hahahaha... What do you think "MST" stands for?*

*Well, since you obviously can't find the information yourself, it's Mid-Saps-Technology. It might have been considered low saps 15 years ago though.

I’m just waiting for the 0W-40 to become more readily available( Amazon, specifically sold by amazon, not third party, Walmart, etc) to switch over. Until then, Pennzoil platinum 5W-30 it is. My car only sees the street, but if the ESP oil will provide better protection and reduce carbon build up, I’m all for that.

Yep, thats a definition offered by one of the "experts" on Bob's blog...

Have you at all considered it could stand for Mechanical Setting Tool? A name used for oil flow control in engineering, science, etc.

Regardless, one should not be influenced by an old trade mark acronym, but rather what an updated, post Dexos2 certification, official data sheet says, which i have attached. It clearly states "LOW SAPS". And so do all other descriptions of this Dexos2 oil.

The funny part is, you may have indirectly answered my question why you thought Valvoline MST was bad. Which of course it isnt becuase it is NOT mid SAPS at all. Officially. According to its manufacturer vs Bob's "expert".

Good day sir!

I am sure Mobil1 ESP Formula is good oil. But if SAPS levels are influencing your decision and you do NOT track your car, then Mobil1 5w30 Dexos1 is GM approved DD oil and offers LOWER SAPS levels vs the Formula 0w40 oil. Just fyi so you spend your $ wisely. Source: Mobil1 website.

For those interested in Mobil 1 0W-40 ESP the best deal can be had here: https://www.speedwaymotors.com/

I bought two 6-quart boxes for $49.99 each with free shipping. Also just got my rebate check from Mobil which was $12 per 5 quarts. So, I got 12 quarts for $76 (plus some taxes).

Also according to the refund link, Speedway is not a participating retailer? You definitely got a rebate after purchasing there though?

Speedway has a link on their website so they are participating. Mobil1 doesn't list every single retailer on their site. I turned mine in a while back. Still waiting on it.

Yeah, I didn't see it on there anywhere either, but the rebate check cleared yesterday. :-)

If you went to a jiffy lube type place, I highly doubt they had the correct oil.

Dexos 2 is required and not found at all places. The regular 0-40 is not dexos 2 certified.
Do you know exactly what they put in?
