Sounds about right. The bonus would be if you built them with regressive valves. IMO that would be the primary advantage over going with a conclusion-in-a-box with the ZL1 1LE DSSV's.

not really shocked to be honest. it is Penske...

the crazy thing though, is most people here, the HUGE majority with lowering springs especially. don't really need a 6000$ set of shocks and struts... they need at most maybe a 1000-1500$ set of Konis, Tokico, Bilstein, or even Eibach set of shocks and struts.

its like, hey, I want traction!

well we either have this 16 inch wide drag slick.....or nothing. 5000$ per slick. they were designed and used by john force!

don't you have like a 275 in mickey Thompson ET street?

nope.

I mean I get it, race teams can utilize it. people who just have extra cash to spend, prob cant utilize it, but may get it just to say I have it.

don't get me wrong its a great car handling wise, but its still for most under a 50K, 40 for many, car... not everyone will need shocks that are 1/6th to 1/7th of the cars total buying price.

meanwhile cars that are 80K and above have selections from koni, Bilstein, etc...that cost 1000-2000$

Still remember my 2000 Trans Am that I raced. In the front, I had Koni DAs. They worked great. But, at least back then, they didn't make adjustable rears. Or not cheaply (don't remember).

So, I found a circle track shop near my that sold Afco racing shocks in different valving (separate values for both bump and rebound). They were something like $50 apiece. I bought 4 sets, in all different values (well, 4 pairs of values). I'd swap them out if I needed different handling. Took probably 10 minutes per shock. And, when I busted one (like I did during qualifying one day), I'd always have spares!
