Nitrous

Need opinions, I honestly don't know much at all about nitrous. Is this a good kit? https://m.summitracing.com/parts/zex-82040b Or what is a good kit if not? What's the difference between wet and dry?

That kit is for a 4 barrel carb so it will not fit the LT1. "wet" adds fuel and nitrous which "dry" just shoots nitrous in your motor.

Dry sprays before you MAF sensor - relying on thief vehicles fuel system to provide the gas.

A "wet" systems after your MAF and adds both nitrous and fuel. If you are thinking of nitrous, do some research on tuning needed to run properly.

You want the nitrous outlet wet kit if you are gonna do it safely. IMO. It is made for the lt1 specific

Read and educate yourself as much as you can before attempting to mess with nitrous. Nitrous is not inherently any more risky than any other power adder but if it is going to be a DIY project you really need to understand the fundamentals of how it works and all of the things that could go wrong if you don't think it through and plan the system properly.

I would recommend this: http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/efi-wet...allery-image-4

But no matter what kit you go with, do yourself a favor and get a window switch, such as: http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/electro...t-feature.html

Wet and dry has already been covered, but I prefer a wet system since you can match the fuel pill with the nitrous pill. You still need to have be able to get enough fuel to the solenoid along with your engine, but with a dry kit you're relying on the MAF and tuning...which is alright for some people. Anyway, I wouldn't spray below 2,200 RPM in order to prevent fuel from pooling in the intake manifold, which could lead to this:

There was a time when I spent more money a week on nitrous than I did on gas...it's pretty addictive lol. If you have any other questions, just let me know. Also, don't forget to go colder on the plugs...

Ive got a nitrous outlet wet kit on mine. Have had it on all season, running a 150 shot. I don't like the idea of a dry kit. With a wet kit you don't have to depend on the computer to figure out it needs to add X amount of hp worth of fuel to the cylinder. I'm also pulling timing only when the nitrous fires with a LNC box.

Now that I think about it, that sounds way better. My friend is running a dry 100 shot on his & letting the computer figure out the amount of extra fuel it needs. Can a wet kit be run on my bone stock 6.2 LT1 engine?
Do you need colder plugs & controller?
What about stock fuel pump?
I ran the nitrous outlet plate kit bone stock, without a tune on a 100 shot. It worked like a dream. I used their recommended jets. Stock plugs, stock fuel pump. When I switched to the 150 shot, I bought colder plugs, and a timing controller. Everything else was still stock. Even the tune.

When I ran nitrous on my coyote Mustang GT I had a wet plate kit and ran a tune with retarded timing to keep it safe. It was a simple setup and I had a lot of fun with it and never had any problems with it.

Yes, I run the Nitrous Outlet wet kit. 125HP shot. I wouldn't do more than that on a stock or street car. I love my kit. I can tell you all about Nitrous if you PM me. It is awesome if you have all the safety items in place. Most notably is something to pull timing while you are spraying. Rule is 1-1.5 degrees of timing per 50HP shot. So 125 would require 3 or 4 degress of timing pull during spray. I pull 4 to be safe with a lingenfelter Timing and Launch control Module, LNC-2014. And in the summer months, Nitrous is really awesome because intake temps are rock bottom even on 100F days. So you are not limited to intake temps pulling tons of timing like boosted applications.
