Have a home security system and a keypad deadbolt. The only key I carry is the car key.

I absolutely love the keyless aspect of the camaro. The Auto lock is one of my favorite car features.

So cool walking away from my car and having it honk at me...."I'll see you soon and I'm all locked and secure."

Kind of dangerous to leave your car running in the drive or anywhere else when it is out of sight. Thieves are looking for exactly this type of hop and go opportunity.

Just sayin'...

Not just GM. MY fiancé did it with her Honda Accord a few months back. Got all the way to work (about a 30 minute drive) before she realized she didn't have her fob.

I put my key fob on a lanyard and wear it around my neck
Because I am worried that this might happen...not used to keyless so I often forget about the key fob(even when it's on the lanyard around my neck)

Not really worried about that in my drive and if someone did hop in and go they'd probably hop right back out due to my two boys that were in the car waiting for me.

Looks like the key less system is the car thief dream come true.
Whats wrong with a physical key that is used to start and turn off your car.

My new C7 and '11 Infiniti M37x work this way, yes.

Send a message via AIM to Mr. Wyndham
I wonder if any keyless systems actually shut down if they don't detect the key after a few moments, or immediately when the key leaves the vicinity...

I imagine such a function could cause a safety issue if there was a malfunction.

Exactly. And, leaving children in a running car is also flirting with disaster as well as possibly illegal. I'm no safety nazi by any stretch but just think of what can go wrong, if even in only a minute.

Stay safe.

depends on how old they are... can't believe this is what we talk about in 2016 when I used to stay outside 1-2 miles away from home playing in the woods with my friends and this guy is getting flack for leaving his kids in a car running in his driveway.

Anyway I'm going to test this in a sec.
