Have people become so spoiled they have to have such a simple thing done automatically for them?

There is a reason the saying goes " Convenience is King " People will pay more and pay attention less as long as its more convenient.

I like the FOB not for its main features but just for the things like scratching up around your key hole or your keys jingling while in the ignition. Those are the 2 main reasons I like it.

AKA, laziness. About at its worst with this 'proximity' stuff.

Your comment on fobs not scratching the paint around the door or trunk keyholes is absolutely on point.

Wear a fanny pack and always leave your FOB in there.

It hasn't happened since.

I know as a LEO people would call in especially in the winter months and ask if we can get them into their cars because they've locked the keys up in it while warming it up. We stopped doing it because it seemed that's all we were doing. When I worked as Post Command I would ask if they had another fob and they'd say a husband or wife had it but they were at work. I told them to call them on their cell and tell them to put the fob up to the phone mouth piece and hit the unlock button while they were standing outside the running car and it worked. They were miffed but it's just sending the same signal outward and it's being received. So this brings me to wonder if this will work with a the Push Button Start and if the receiver would detect over the phone as in regular cars with plain fobs?
I think when I do have a chance I'll drive down the street well out of range without the fob and have my wife on the phone with the fob and see what happens for future reference. I do know the first thing I do when driving this car is put the fob in a pocket and it's never seen or touched again until I'm back home and I place it in my hiding place with the other one.

Just food for thought boys and girls......

Damn some of y'all old men are going full "get-off-my-lawn" mode in here, lmao

Times change, learn to keep your key in your pocket and stop making yourself look like an uptight asshole by calling everyone else "lazy" or other petty name-calling who doesn't want to keep dealing with old technology. Get over yourselves, soon.

It's actually pretty hilarious the refusal to keep tabs on their car key.

Must be nice to be young and think that the newest answers are always the best answers for everything.

I'm man enough to admit laziness where I'm guilty of it, without having to (repeatedly) return insults when it might have been suggested by somebody else that I was being lazy about something. Half or more of a lifetime ago, maybe not.
