New buyer questions

Good afternoon everyone! I am going to look at a 2018 ZR1 with only 300 miles on in and a 2019 with 4K miles on the odometer.....aside from mileage between the two years is there anything else that is different between the two? Would you pick one over the other etc? Thanks for any help!

Pretty sure the rear tail lights are different on the 19’s.

Also look at the original window sticker as there can be options that differ from one to the other.

They “should” both have the Powertrain Warranty intact & the 19 should have time left on the 3/36K. Find out the in-service date to see how much warranty remains.

Any at a dealership?

Knowing what I know now, I would get the 2019, because some oil pumps on the 2017 - 2018's are iffy in terms of reliability.

I wouldn't be scared to by either. There should be a good amount of warranty left on the 2018. Regardless, in both cases, I would ask the dealer to look at the computer to make sure it wasn't tuned before purchasing.

Also after doing a lot of my research the corvette z06 with the LT4 is known for overheating issues......I haven’t found many instances of the ZL1 overheating.....would it be a correct assumption that the Z06 is more prone to overheating.....reason I ask is of course I don’t want any car I spend this much money on to overheat, but also I live in Southern California and when temperatures rise here I don’t want to be afraid to drive my beautiful car to the beach.....thanks again for any help!

There’s a lot of guys on here pushing their cars on the road course that far exceeds anything you will more than likely throw at it on a “trip to the beach”.

Overheating is a total non-issue for a stock ZL-1, on track or off.

Early Z06 models have the short lid and flat air intercoolers. The zl1s and z06s after 2017 have the high top lid and angled coolers over the runners.

Go to about 3 minute point

Get the 19 ZR1 because they did not make a ZR1 in 2018. Lol!

Just kidding I know you meant ZL1. Either 18 or 19 should be great. 18 try to get one that was built in the later months bc of issues with oils
Pumps brought up by some. 19s have different tail lights.

I’d go with whichever one has the color you want. Also the 18 I’m sure will be less expensive.

Send pics once you get it.

Well I pulled the trigger on the 18....couldn’t pass it up....only had 384 miles on it, sat in someone’s garage for quite some time and obviously didn’t drive it at all. Because of the mention of the oil pump I had them throw on a 4 year 48K mile Chevy factory warranty......once I figure out how to post pictures I’ll post them....It’s color is Silver Ice Metallic....can’t wait to fully detail her tomorrow....thanks everyone for help in making my decision.....
