What the heck is up with truck drivers

Is it just me? It seems like a regular thing, I pass someone in a truck and the redneck just has to speed up and get on my bumper.

This happened yesterday (again) coming back over some mountains from Alabama to Georgia I passed a dually diesel Ram, on a two lane road in a passing zone. Prior to me passing him Mr. Truck Driver was content to cruise along at about 50. Once I passed him he discovered the desire to drive closer to 70 and tailgate me. Like he had something to prove. Once it got really twisty he found he couldn't prove whatever he was trying to.

No, it's not just you. It's an amazing phenomenon, right after you pass these overgrown snails, they suddenly find the friggin accelerator pedal.
My favorite part, as you're passing them, you hear their trans downshift and their engine go WOT, but you still keep passing them

No Wyzz kydd, it’s not just you! I have it happen to me quite frequently especially since I own a ZL1! When I had my 2010 2SS and 2016 2SS people did the same thing but now it’s worse. What gets me though is when people are driving slower than the speed limit and they see me coming up in the left lane of the Interstate, they speed up so I won’t get around them. It’s like damn why are you speeding up now and not going the speed you were going when you saw me coming up behind them. Irks my butt good! I just usually give that LT4 more gas and he gets around them and says goodbye!

I get that a lot too. They don't want to drive as fast as you are, but they damn sure don't want you to pass them either. When they speed up to close the gap, I shoot it. If they have to brake hard, too bad.

They are usually to busy maga-ing and rolling coal and blue lives mattering to mess with me. Out here in Kalifornia, I get more attention from stanced Tesla 3's with tinted windows. They need to save a whale, listen to NPR and do some hot yoga or something.

I also own a 2012 RAM 2500 CTD and I have other trucks that try to show their ass, my truck is deleted and tuned, I have a co-worker who thinks that he has to race me just to make sure he gets to work first, but when I bring the 1SS to work then he re-thinks his plans.

Yeah it’s something about the complex of people who want these obscenely large vehicles and not use them for their intended purposes. They are no doubt compensating for something, but don’t try to race me, you’ll lose. Even the F-150 Shelby loses by a landslide to a Camaro SS.

Yeah, Tesla drivers kinda annoy me too, they like to show off their 0-60 times. They are quick no doubt, but one dimensional.

I will say, I much prefer the Tesla crowd to the Prius crowd though, I just want to GTA those slow pokes that drive in the fast lane trying to get 100MPG.

Depends on the type. I once had an older silverado driver go out of his way to give me the right of way when I was trying to back out of a parking spot. He rolled down his window and said "anything for a fellow Chevrolet!" But yea some pickup truck drivers are just jerks. The higher the lift, and the more aftermarket lighting and bumpers, the jerkier, it seems.
