JANNETTY RACING INDEPENDENT TESTING, ARH, ROTOFAB, MSD RESULTS
First I must thank Fraxum for volunteering his car for this project.
Also, Thanks To ARH for providing the 2 inch headers for testing. Note; all testing is done under extremely tight controlled conditions and procedures developed over the last 30 years running dyno tests, using the Superflow SF-840 Twin Eddy current load bearing dyno that I have owned and operated for the last 14 years Every run is data logged, ECT, IAT, and Oil temps are stabilized, and weather station is correcting for conditions. The results are inarguable, accurate and repeatable. Test 1 2016 Camaro SS LT-1 M6 STOCK 7600 miles on Odometer running Mobil 93 octane. 429 RWHP 436 RWTQ represented by the black lines in all of the dyno graphs. Everything from this point forward will be called Stock VS referencing these base numbers. Test 2 STOCK VS ROTOFAB DRY. 435 RWHP 438 RWTQ Peak to peak gains are +6 RWHP + 3 RWTQ Delta gains are + 6 RWHP +5 RWTQ All gains are above 4400 RPM which is what we expected since the stock air box is so good. Test 3 STOCK VS MSD ATOMIC W ROTOFAB DRY. 445 RWHP 435 RWTQ Peak to Peak gains +16 RWHP -1 RWTQ Delta Gains 31 RWHP 26 RWTQ AT 6350 RPM All gains are above 5000 RPM with a loss at 3800 RPM Test 4 STOCK VS MSD ATOMIC W STOCK AIR BOX 442 RWHP 435 RWTQ Peak to Peak +13 RWHP -.5 RWTQ Delta Gains +25 RWHP +23 at 6350 rpm All gain are above 5000 RPM with a loss at 3800 Test 5 STOCK vs ARH 1 7/8 LT W CATS LONG SYSTEM TO STOCK MUFFLER WITH NPP, MSD ATOMIC AND STOCK AIR BOX 456 RWHP 448 RWTQ. NOTE. I had already tested the headers on a stock car so it was pointless to repeat that testing this test shows how much the headers compliment the MSD intake. Peak to Peak gains 27 RWHP 12 RWTQ Delta gains + 40 RWHP +33 RWTQ AT 6350 RPM TEST 6 STOCK vs ARH 1 7/8 LT W CATS TO STOCK MUFFLER, MSD ATOMIC AND ROTOFAB DRY. 460 RWHP 446 RWTQ Peak to Peak gains 31 RWHP 11 RWTQ Delta gains +46 RWHP +31 RWTQ Final test 7 STOCK VS ARH 2 INCH LT W CATS TO STOCK MUFFLER, MSD ATOMIC, ROTOFAB DRY. 459 RWHP 444 RWTQ Peak to Peak gains +30 RWHP + 9 RWTQ. Delta Gains +45 RWHP + 29 RWTQ. All though the 2 inch headers did not matched the 1 7/8 LT from 2200 to 6000 RPM the 2 inch headers did make more power from 6000 to Rev limit. I can see the 2 inch Headers having the advantage with Cam and Forced induction. Graph for discussion Stock VS 1 7/8 vs 2 inch LT Any questions post them here and I will address them. Our power Packages will be built off of this information and tuning developed during this process.

nice to see your dyno pretty much confirms my SOTP dyno. great work and many thanks.
My current mods: green filter, mod air box, front cat bypass, mild tune, MSD. I've also had Mishimoto CAI and CAI CAI. Ted what is your gut feeling of the: 1 and 7/8 header + cats vs Hooker Tri-Y and front cat bypass, offroad pipe on a stock longblock?

Awesome, thanks for all the hard work and posting up.
Did you see any gains with the RF from the wet filter to the dry filter?

Ted,
Thanks for the hard work and long hours you put into this comparison. Generally speaking, how did the Roto-fab dry filter system compare to other 2016 air intakes you have tested? Thanks again! Michael |

As your build progresses the gains will be better and better with the aftermarket intakes. The dry filter did the best. Ted.

The Dry filter was about 3-4 HP better.

I am testing the Dry filter Saturday but have a LT4 blower on the shelf that will go on soon. GM did do a good job with the stocker as you stated. I know there will be huge gains with the blower. Thanks again.

Ted excellent work! This is exactly what the community needs. Now can you go get E85 tested before lunch is over?

Unfortunately we don't have E-85 available in this state and the dyno is booked today. Ted.

Thanks for doing this Ted couple questions, did you have a dyno graph of 1 7/8 ARH on stock motor only. Also being the stock air box is so good, what are your thoughts on just using a drop in k&n oiled filter ?

Thank you for doing this, some of these results are surprising....especially the mid range torque loss with the MSD of around 30? from 3700 to 4100 rpm, I know you are mostly above 4k at the strip but that seems like a significant amount of power that is lost. How much do you think that offsets the gains ?
Its a shame Fraxam didn't fill up a 5 gallon jug of e85 and bring it with him, it would have been great to see those results. GM hit it out of the park with this car it seems.
