Steering wheel SS Emblem

I bought my car used and the previous owner replaced the SS badge on the steering wheel with a ZL1 emblem I've let it bother me for a while now only because I don't want to buy the wrong part. I have two part number but I'm not sure which one is the correct one. I have to buy the whole silver piece just for the SS badge. Would anyone know where to get just the badge?

The two part numbers are 22824479 and 22883992. I found the first one using my VIN and the second one was by emailing gmpartsdirect.

On my '15 1LE I replaced the SS badges with 1LE badges and looked for a 1LE emblem for the steering wheel and was never able to find any new steering wheel emblems. That sucks, they should have badged the 1LE accordingly, but you may have to buy the whole piece with the SS... I am curious why the original owner took out the SS and changed to the ZL1... Kinda silly really

I think the previous owner actually wanted a ZL1 but didn't have the money for it. He also added a Zl1 badge on the silver dash piece with super glue! It was a bitch to get the super glue residue off without scratching the train piece!

The trim piece is around $110 and a new steering wheel is $175. Might just go ahead get the whole steering wheel.

You might be better off with the new wheel... Use the old one to experiment with and make some cool 1LE badges :-) or have your wife/girlfriend act like she's driving with it in the passenger seat hahaha...

Probably replaced the steering wheel with the ZL1 one and did not pay the extra to get the one from Gen5DIY that says "SS" vs. "ZL1".

Just my thoughts. You can get the wheel cheaper with the ZL1 badge on it actually. I happened to look for my car. LOL

I think the ZL1 steering wheel has red stitching right? Mine has the white stitching. Maybe you want to trade emblems? haha
