Easier install?

I’m familiar with the pros and cons of a PD vs a centri supercharger but I’m curious which is a simpler install for the DIY guy? I’ve had a PD blower but always had the work done professionally. I’m not sure why, but Im considering doing the install myself this time around. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You may get mixed opinions on this. Personally I think centri is easier though. But not sure if it’s so much easier to lean toward a centri just because of that. Can’t go wrong either way though.

Procharger was a pretty easy install overall.

Procharger. I installed Procharger, Maggi and Whipple.

Simpler - Procharger > Mag >= Whipple. - harder.

You can install a Maggie yourself with the proper tools. A good tech can install one in about 10 hours. Probably the hardest part is removing the stock balancer/pulley. Gm made sure it wasn't coming off. There are a couple tricks like heating up the bolts to get it to break loose.

Procharger easiest for sure but don't let that stop you from going with a PD unit. Imo the Whipple or Maggie installation looks much cleaner. In the end it's only a few hours difference install time.

Out of all generations of Camaro, the 6th is now my favorite to work on. For instance the singe C-clips for all the oil lines, so easy and they always work, never leak. The no tensioner for the A/C saves money, time, drag and weight. The complete aluminum cradle comes down and even has the a/c stuff all hooked up, radiator too. I yanked out the drivers side radiator but that is another story.... The only thing to me that is a pain, is the shifter OMG.. I'd rather swap heads and headers... ain't kidding...

This is especially true since:
1) I went to BMR engine mounts, now the headers just fall out of the car.
2) I just zip tie the passenger side wire harness to the catch can instead of the silly steel tree with all the tree zip ties meaning you can move it and the wire harness is always in the way. I can pull out that side header in under 1/2 hour, no need to pull the plugs. I just did this as I did a partial wrap of the header and wrapped my starter as the OEM cooked this summer.
3) until I'm done working on the car, I left the factory aluminum brace and all aero stuff off the bottom of my car.... it makes it that much easier to do anything and I getting a forged short block soon! So why put this on? LOL. this also means it is 1/2 an hour to take the whole front clip off now... easy peasy...

Sometimes it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

I concur with this statement,
however, I am no tech but I did find it pretty good (my Maggie). I managed to take my time and did it maybe 18hours or so (or two weekends worth). And yes, the hardest part was the balancer bolt.
I'm sure they both have their quirks though.

ECS/Vortech Kit. does not require crank bolt to be removed.

I see people having trouble with the crank bolt. On my last two cars I have gotten them both off in seconds with this thing and a shallow socket from harbor freight that was like 5 bucks. First car took it right off instantly. My new car I heated it for about 15 seconds with a propane torch and then ripped it right off. It’s an awesome tool to have anyway for tight spaces. Might wanna grab one if you do your own work.
