Camaro sales outpace Mustang and Challenger in September 2016
September 2016 sales stats are in and Camaro U.S. sales outpaced those of the Mustang and Challenger last month.
6,577 Camaros were sold last month versus 6,429 Mustangs. The last time Camaro sales topped Mustang sales was in Oct. 2014. The Camaro also outsold the Challenger, which sold 5,698 units. Charts courtesy of Enator:

Interesting. I wonder why Mustang sales dropped from ~10,000 per month to ~6,500 so suddenly. Didn't they even sell around 10,000 last month?
EDIT: Sorry, Mustang sold 8,299 last month. Not as big of a drop as I thought since we're moving into the slower months. Nice to see Camaro sales finally catch up and overtake! |

Looks likes it wasn't just the mustang that had a bad month, looks like Ford had an awful month. |

That just shows the Camaro could use a price drop. Even if the Camaro is the better performer, it's not worth the increase price to the average customer.

Im assuming perspective Mustang buyers have seen enough Car Show: Mustang vs Crowd videos and decided they dont want to do prison time for man slaughter.
All jokes aside, glad to see the segment is still selling well from all brands. |
