I know right. She did not know I did it. She actually cried a little that I did it and that someone cared enough about her to do something like that for our future. Her first husband always had a new car and he made her drive a piece of shit.

She said that I/we can always get another car down the road.

Aha, all makes sense now.

You are a gentleman of the best, oldschool kind. Congratulations on your marriage, and btw your wife is beautiful.

Thanks for reply. I know, she is so gorgeous, what the heck does she see in this ugly old 65 year....

This is her loving the ZL1. She took a corner once fishtailing, hit second while still in the corner and still fishtailing. All the while in complete control and she was laughing the whole time.

I'm in the same boat but got time to see how it's going to play out...I resigned two weeks ago thus turning in my company truck. I put 100k miles in just 14 months on that 18 / F150 & while I loved the folks I worked for / with & customers it's not something I want to do coming into my 50's & fam wanted me off the road. I simply have always had & need a 4wd truck for my lifestyle. This Z was my very first real sports car & hope to keep it, but just depends on the new gig. Good thing is I'm debt free so no mortgage / vehicle payments. Ins is paid up till March & staying busy with my side biz, so really in no big hurry & all depends on the new gig.
Figure my options are another with use of a company truck, buying a good used one or trading as you did. (Like the choice!!) I can use the wife's Tahoe for the time being to cover any bird hunts or trips to the ranch I'm doing now.

I know, Dove season opened on Sunday. There were a lot of birds hitting the ground to be sure. I really miss South Texas bird hunting. In the early January part, then you can get quail and dove.

I always hunted about an hour south of SA.

So far, this 6.2L is getting 23+ MPG on the highway and has 300 miles on it now. It will only get better. Still breaking that motor in.

The white wing were out in full force & was good to shoot again...the heat was rough & close to 100 both Sunday & Monday. Got rain this week so who knows how next weekend will hold them. Regular season for us after the special white wing is in about two weeks.

You think you will end up with another hot scooter of some kind sometime down the road??

Yes, I have to have a "race car" of somesort. So for now, this 6.2L "race truck" will have to do. It has the A10 like the ZL1 and the detuned to 420HP Camaro SS motor. I am getting a Cat back that will add 15hp and 4 inch lift.

The trucks dont have the same engine as an SS. It has a 6.2 yes but it's not the same. The Z71 uses the L87 apposed to the LT1

I know, you are correct it is the L87. Probably lower compression ratio, lower redline to be sure.

I have a 2010 Z71 with the 6.2 and a 7” lift & 35’s.
I put 456 gears front & rear & had it tuned ( CAI & exhaust ).
It is extremely quick off the line now ( was not the real purpose of the gears- mainly because being sluggish with lift & tires ), but I have more fun with the truck because people always challenge it, and get dusted. My ZL1 I had Vengence Racing do the 850 package & no one ever comes near it. I would suggest the 410 gears, would be best.

I hear you about the 410 gears. A little too high. I would go at most 3.73'ish. It is at the 3.23 now and would be better for towing.

Nice Vengence package you got. I looked at those.
