Advise please!

I am on the verge of completing all of the exterior/visual mods to my car, and have started to explore my options for increasing my performance. My goal is not to reach zl1 level power. If I want that in the future, I'll just get one. However, i would like to be closer to 550 rwhp.*
Option 1: Pray tb and im, arh long tubes, cai, and flex fuel tune.
Option 2: I have done some research into several of the companies that perform upgrade packages for our cars. ie: sve zl660, fireball performance 700, and hennessey hpe 600. I lean towards the hennessey package. They are the only one that is not just slapping a procharger on it and calling it good. (Not that that is necessarily a bad thing) once again, I would just go buy a zl1. I like that its 600 hp naturally aspirated. The package is basically heads, cam, valve train, headers/exhaust, tune.*

I do not know what option 1 would cost me? I've seen some pretty good numbers from you guys with similar set ups. I can do most of that work myself, I would just have to find someone that I trust in the tulsa are to do the tuning to make it all work.*
Hennessey is charging 14,000 for the hpe 600. Is that a fair price for the work done/ power gained? Its several thousand cheaper than the procharged route, and I just drop it off and pick it back up completed. No blood, sweat, and tears on my part.
Any advice on these two options will be appreciated. Or if you have a totally different route that you would reccomend, I am very interested. Thanks in advance, for your input!

550rwhp is pretty much zl1 power. Bolt on should land you in the 440-490rwhp range depending on Dyno.

All my power adders cost around 5500-6k roughly and I make 479rwhp. On pump gas. (base line was low 376 iirc). Once I get back on e85 and if I get an MSD intake I'd be pretty close to 520rwhp or better. Which is pretty much the 600 package.

Price of the Hennessy is probably not bad depending on the brands used, and if they are doing fbo and h/c. Cam labor is usually 3-4k I think. On top of it all, Hennessy I believe gives you a warranty.

Lingenfelter has a 600hp NA package for 10k. They also have a 630hp Magnuson package for 11k. Most customers chose the Magnuson because it drives like stock and makes another 80-100ft lbs of torque for not much more money.

Thanks! Are you pretty happy with your bolt on setup? I am looking for a little more seat of the pants torque and more of an edge if I were to meet a 5.0 or scat pack. Stock just seems a little tame... Does anyone see anything that I am missing in my plan? How is the experience going through PRAY? Difficult? Easy? I am a little apprehensive, because I have zero experience in the tuning world. Does it require much knowledge to go through the remote tuning process?

I absolutely love mine, when it was fbo, and even more cammed. Pray is an outstanding guy to work with, and the remote tuning is easy (as long as you live close to Mexico lol).

Let say I go option 1 (ported tb/im, headers, cai, flex fuel, tune) is it worth the money/ trouble of getting the heads and cam done? Or just wait for the zl1 several years down the road?

I guess that ones just personal preference. If you HAVE to be na it's definitely worth it, at least to me. I enjoy the soundsl it
makes, the added power and still relatively good economy. Current avg 21mpg. High of 26 out on the interstate. And you don't have to drop the money all at once. You can buy a few things at a time and add them all at once.

But on the same token if you saved all that up it could be a down payment towards a zl1 with 650 right out of the box and a warranty.

My guess is you enjoy modding tho, having done the cosmetic stuff already. In that case, fbo will consume a few hours of your time for not a horrible about of money.

My opinion is go fbo and see how you feel from there. Maybe some of the other h/c. Guys can give you some input too!

I would suggest a Magnuson 2300 Heartbeat, that will put you just at the 540 to 550 rwhp and about 560 rwtq. Great drivability, killer low end power, no converter needed, just a load of fun to drive and go to the track, add some slicks or drag radials and run in the 10's. Put your street tires on go down the highway and get 23 mpg, just like stock. Can't beat that. By the way you won't need to change the exhaust unless you want to.

These cars are very impressive with just bolt-ons. They will run high 10's @ 123-125 in good air. I am really happy with mine. Pray is great to deal with as well.

Brett does a great job, he's got it pretty well figured out on these NA cars. Just with a Maggie you don't have to go to so much intensive labor to make 550 rwhp.

Bolt-ons and E85 require the least amount of labor and you can hit 480-490whp pretty easy done right...A few have even hit 500. Now heads/cam definitely takes the labor to another level...that is where I agree the Maggie or Whipple is hard to beat.

Thank you all for the input, I think I will begin the process of going fbo. I'll save the big bucks for the zl1, and this will give me something to wrench on in the mean time. My wife cant imagine why I feel the need to change a perfect, new vehicle. Lol At least she doesn't object. I'm sure there will be updates along the way.

If you're going to be doing FBO, we offer some 'Hot Deals" for these cars. Other than that, Edelbrock just dropped the new 2650 version of the E-Force blower kit. That thing is going to be the best thing yet as far as bolt-on blower kit. They use the same new design Eaton rotors that are in the new ZR1 engine's blower.

So you think it's better then the Gen 3 Whipple 2.9?
