I live in FL and you can either cover the vent up or drive with your windshield wipers on all day. Lol

What an ignorant answer. That's not what the issue is.. it's not user error.

I can replicate this problem only when the top vent is open otherwise I have no problem.

Fogging windshield
How do you keep the air from escaping the top vents? I can't run my ac in any mode without having cold air escape the top of the dash and excessively fogging up the windshield. I have to adjust the air temp to no lower than 78 degrees and fan speed on low or it hammers the windshield to a point the outside has condensation covering 2/3rds of the windshield. Then I run wipers and constantly hit front windshield defrost on/off raising temperature to hot to remove the fogging/condensation on the outside of the windshield. Then lower temperature so that I'm not sweating. Then the fogging comes right back.

Fogging windshield
Yeah this is the only complaint with my car fortunately. There isn't anything I have tried that works outside covering the dash vent completely while running the ac. Tampa Florida humidity is part of it I'm sure.

If you read higher up they have come up with a fix. Unfortunately they have to rip your entire dash apart. I am thinking about it...

My 17 ss does this every day. I really don't want the dealer to work on my car simply because I don't trust them. Has anybody fixed this themselves?

Dealers are strongly encouraged to reinstall the windshield after completing the procedure. Dash removal is unlikely at this point as both doors have to be taken off in order to remove the dash as an assembly. |
