In test driving both cars with the A10, I did not notice the Camaro keeping the gear when using the paddle shifter even in sport mode. Maybe I did it wrong.
However the Mustang definitely keeps it in sport mode but does not keep it long when in normal mode. |

By doing so "Mexico high speed runs", you only risk of returning walking to the USA without your Camaro and without your wallet and maybe beat up or not coming back at all. It's very dangerous, That's a very stupid suggestion. Is more safer to go to a local track to do that.

Drove a ‘19 SS A10 today. Thought it was pretty good. If you want to go auto, don’t think you’ll have too many complaints. Shifts quick, downshifts are good

Otherwise just putting the Camaro in sport mode and not manual doesn't seem to change a whole lot when just driving around normally. You have to activate the performance shifting by driving aggressively at least for a short time.

My 2019 finally arrived, so I can say a few things about it.
When switching from tour to sport, without doing any paddle shifting, the transmission does switch to a lower gear, and seems to tend to stay in a lower gear longer during light acceleration in sport than it does in tour. It's more noticeable than it was in my 2016. I had the EPP exhaust set to sport (not match drive mode) when I was testing this out.
