2022 SS 1LE Questions

Gents

I ordered a 2022 SS 1LE in SGM last November, hopefully I see the car soon. A few questions if anyone has the time. Some of these may have already been addressed in other posts but have gone off on a tangent.

Yokohama Advan Apex V601 - anyone run these yet? Seems like a true rival to the PS4S.

Chemical guys carbon force ceramic - anyone used this? Opinions?

Recommendations for pre cut PPF kits?

Recommendations for a rear seat delete kit?

Are ZL1 Deluxe still the rock guards of choice?

So far I have seen or heard no confirmation to the LT2 rumours, opinions?

Cheers

Can only attest to the zl1 rock guards. Have them. Track my car. Protects it well! Definitely worth it

Welcome to the forum! I was planning on buying the ZL1 rock guards too. I have them on another vehicle. Then I stumbled across the ACS Composite rock guards. They make them in 1LE black. They are more expensive, but are molded and form fit the car.

Exclamation

Is a tune required after installation of CAI??? Also, does it void the warranty?

I could be wrong but I believe if you order the GM performance CAI it does not void your warranty and the car gets flashed to suit.

It’s not something I optioned

The factory CAI is no longer available and GM does not have a reflash for the ‘22. You can go direct to Cold Air Inductions it is the same intake yet the tube is designed a bit different so it does not require a tune. This is direct from Cold Air Inductions themselves(they make the GM one).

Man, I had to go and look at my print out. I had the intake option on the printout from my salesman but sure as shit the intake is not listed in the order work bench. That’s annoying, guess I’ll get a rotofab.

To my knowledge, nobody is running these as rain/cool-weather tires in street-tire (UTQG 200-up) classes. That would be my litmus test for a good "summer" tire that's also good on the street in rain and cool weather. So far, the only tire that comes close the PS4S is the Continental EC Sport.

I was planning to run the Advans on an additional set of wheels with a square setup. They are well priced by comparison to the Goodyears and Michelins.

I will look into the Continentals too

Congrats on the 1LE. Front bumper PPF kit, I purchased mine from invisiblemask.com, perfect fit and came with instructions and materials like squeegee and spray bottles and a cyringe to add the right amount of soap to the spray bottle with water.

If you want 99% of what the PS4S offers but at a better price, the Conti is a no-brainer decision. Those two tires are leaps and bounds better than anything else int heir areas of strength, and for street driving the Conti is going to perform the same, realistically, but it's significantly cheaper.

Prices are crazier than ever and the difference I see online is now down to $30-40. These tires are now in the $450-$500 range per piece for the rears (305/30/20 or 315/30/20), absolutely bonkers.
