**Fixed** - Vibration under light acceleration

I read all the vibration threads and none seem to match what I'm hearing.

From a stop, and under light acceleration up to 5mph, I hear a vibration and then it goes away. I was also able to make it happen from a 35mph coast with light acceleration. I can feel the vibration at my feet but with a cursory look under the car nothing jumps out at me. I can see the heat shields and was thinking that it might be a harmonic vibration.

After checking the npp rattle threads, I'm fairly positive that not the issue.

If anyone knows of anything to check I would appreciate the info.

Does this vibration happen all the time or does it go away after driving your vehicle for bit?

All the time. Warm, cold, v4, v8. It really sounds like somethings loose. I'm going to get under the car today. There is a lot of aluminum under there, maybe something's loose.

If it is pretty much just till 5mph I am going to guess it is a harmonic thing, like a loose heat shield or something. That is too slow of a speed for it to be something more major...since you say after 5mph it goes away?

You said you HEAR it, usually you FEEL a vibration, so it's hard to say...

I feel at my feet too. It's probably a heat shield. I'll find. I was just curious if others might have it as well. Usually I have my music up loud enough that those kinds of things aren't heard but once you hear it, you can't unhear it or unfeel it.

That's loud. I'm not sure I could actually record mine. Getting under it in about an hour. Hopefully I'll find it.

Found the problem. On the driver's side of the transmission is a shield protecting a cable. It also happens to be right below the driver's feet. One of the bolts was over tightened causing the shield to rest right on the transmission. Under light acceleration it was vibrating on the transmission and feeding up through the floor.

Pictures on this site have helped me with other things. I thought it was only right to post my fix.

Who knows, with its location to the engine compartment, it might have caused a little "false knock" and reduced your power. Great find and fix!

Thanks! This was driving me crazy. How much did you have to
loosen it?
