Have never seen that confirmed by a tuner but like you said irrelevant on a stock car. And if you're modifying you're going to need a tune anyway.

That’s exactly why I said perceived. The “idea” being, they are a better screwed together car. They are also newer which means potentially they have lower miles. Remember this is about collecting, which ultimately sets the pricing on all these cars.

If this is actually factual, it does mean something, as the factory never makes changes for nothing. There are costs associated with these changes. For people who are not going to get a tune this is definitely a plus.
