P cars are awesome, always loved them, but with a five figure income it's not something I'd ever touch. And I don't think I could ever figure out all the 911 996 997 GT3GT2 RS turbo Carrara designations.
Was always a BMW fan as well. Can't beat German engineering, but the cost and sometimes the complexity isn't my cup of tea.

Mostly the advantage is Tires. On a smaller track I actually think the advantage would be larger. It definitely seemed to have a 2-3 mph advantage over me on the back straight.

Congrats to the OP for buying the car he wanted. I'd own a Porsche if I could afford the one I wanted. I bought my 1LE because it was the one V8 'Pony" car that made my BP rise. Not really a Vette fan, nor a Viper fan. If it wasn't for the fact I have never owned a V8 RWD car before I'd still have been building my other dream car, a bike engined Lotus 7 clone. As much as I love my Camaro, part of me still pines for a small light weight car.

Wow. Just... wow. I had the chance to drive a GT3 (non-RS) when in Denver and absolutely loved EVERYTHING about that car.
Congrats to you - that RS is a piece of art and a mechanical marvel. Thank you for the pictures.

Congrats for your new car. Both cars are special on their own way. The Camaro SS 1LE is the best performance car for the $. But Porsches are very special cars, just be ready to pay more for maintenance.
I owned a '02 Porsche Carrera and it was great at the track but very costly on repairs not very reliable but my actual Stingray Z51 is the same thing, great performer but very unreliable. My prior 5th gen Camaro ZL1 and my '11 Mustang GT 5.0 were more reliable and always had a smile while driving them without having to worry about maintenance costs. On my future I see a 6th gen Camaro SS 1LE or ZL1 great cars for the price. I love to glance and read about Porsche performance but no way I would go back to them or to a Corvette. Please share us more about your experience comparing your Cayman to your previous SS1LE

Awsome drivingI play it on my big screen tv and enjoyed looking at your laps, you sure beat the ass of a Porsche Carrera, Cayman and even a Stingray that you passed like nothing. For sure your SS 1LE is a great car.

Is a rule on track, slower car moves to the right and waiving faster car behind to pass him

It is called a "point by". The car being passed points which side they wish the over taking car to go. Usually they stay on the usual "line" into a corner and the passing car over takes on the inside of the corner entry. With some exceptions re: specific track/corner/run group designation/etc.

Thanks guys, just got back from the drag strip to see if the numbers were true. The slips don’t lie 🤙🏽, the car is amazing and handles like a dream in the canyons. I can’t wait to get her on the track 😁
