American Authority Grille Installed

Hi, All.

I am slowly getting my car to be a Redline knockoff - LOL.

Latest installation is the American Authority lower grille with red accents. It's not the highest quality plastics but it fit very well and installed easily. I cannot complain for ~$159. I think it looks fantastic!

Next up is the GM OE fender hash stripes and the rear matte vinyl blackout trim for between the taillights. Also got the red/black RS badge for the rear. Both should be here by this weekend and the weather is warming up enough so we can get the polebarn hot enough to install.

Looks pretty good. Is that painted or unpainted how it comes? For the price that isnt bad at all. Im thinking of just using red plastidip to cover to silver accents.

The grille itself is a molded black plastic - fairly decent, but some mottling if you look closely.
The red inserts are also a molded plastic. They look a bit "thin" and I believe in a year or two they may need a couple coats of plasti-dip to freshen them up.
Overall, a good price/product if you do not demand perfection.

I have their grille, also. I couldn’t install it in the condition they were when they arrived. I got it painted, first.

It has to be, but I didn't really check how you'd do that. It's a separate molded piece of plastic. I'm sure you could easily change it out or re-color it if needed.

Yeah, i also installed on my RS with upper grill. Looks awesome.
You didn't paint it to black? As for me, color of plastic is ugly.
But it was much more expensive with shipping to Russia =)

The black plastic didn't bother me enough to deal with prepping and painting it. I was satisfied with it as it came...of course I also had a third gen and the grille on that thing was a disaster so it's all relative. I try to keep my vehicles as nice as possible, but I do actually drive them on our horrid Michigan roads so they will never be perfect, esp. on the front end where they get blasted by road debris and such. If it starts fading or looking bad I will probably plasti-dip the black.
