Header Question

So I have a question about Headers. I purchased a set of SW headers and High Flow Cats. I was getting ready to send them in to get ceramic coated. I noticed that I ordered the wrong size. I wanted to order the 1 7/8". I accidentally ordered 2". I plan on installing a Whipple Super Charger and a Cam. Will the 2" headers work fine or should I sell these and get a set of 1 7/8"?

Thanks in advance.
Mark

2" will work better with FI. Your accident was very fortunate.

Definitely keep the 2” headers! Especially with fi... you actually got the headers you needed! Lol

Good "screw up"! 2" will flow better and make more power. You'll be fine!

You won't loose any low end power on a forced induction set up. They'll be great for you want.

I made 935 rwhp with stock manifolds, that doesn't mean it was what would work best. There have been back to back tests by shops showing the 2 inch didn't lose anything to even talk about down low.

One more question. I have a lil bit of time to save my pennies for my Whipple Supercharger. I would like to install my 2" headers prior to the Whipple Supercharger. Would that be OK or should I wait till I have everything? I am also thinking of installing a cam prior to the Supercharger.

Definitely fine, I installed my 2 inch headers before my cam and it ran great. I of course had it tuned.

You'll be fine if you want to install them ahead of time. You'll need a tune to optimize the engine's running capability, but that shouldn't be any issue. I run 1 7/8" headers instead of 2", but if I had to do it over again I might have gotten 2".
