I ditched the NPP for a Solo Performance axleback. Deeper tone, less raspy, and louder than NPP! https://youtu.be/z9x1_DWu1Ys

AWE Touring is what I have and it sounds incredible.

What I don't get is how some companies can claim a 15hp/20tq gain from just an axel-back

My understanding is the early production Camaro exhausts experienced some issues, but they have since been corrected. I have no complaints with either of my systems. They sound badass!!

There’s very little power increase to be had with exhausts on these cars.

9.5-11hp and 20-22lb/tq for a $900 mod is well worth it IMO. LT Headers as well w/ a catback and i've seen 30+ in total (w catback) hp to wheels.

Most of that is likely header gains and tune. Manufacturers often don't report the tune included in the gains from a stock baseline. Aside from that the factory NPP exhaust which is a 2.5 dual system isn't a restriction until you get above 500whp.

Yep. Like I said, catback only dynos have produced 9-11/12 HP gains to the wheels and then anything producing over 30-35 is usually paired with LT headers + tune. You can get really good catback for the car from $8-1000, and OP was considering axle back, mays well do the full catback and get some sort of performance gains from it

I was one of the first to try them.
Cons:
- Not honest about lead times. Was told 10 days, but took around 8 weeks. - First set of mufflers had internal rattle. BBE warrantied this, but extended my total time until I had a functional system. I lost a lot of my own time troubleshooting this.
- Valves are beefy (and so close to being awesome), but they allow too much blow by, which makes them non-functional. No difference in sound open/closed.

Pros:
- Beautiful high quality welds and bends.
- AMAZING sound
- They did honor the warranty
- Awesome looking tips (the best aftermarket I have seen)

The biggest problem for me was feeling like I was being toyed with on the lead times. Every time that I called it was "shipping out in the next day or two." That went on for so long that I nearly cancelled. Overall, it's a high quality system. Probably the best quality you will find, with the exception of needing a minor valve improvement.

From looking at people cutting open the NPP on the corvette, it looks like there is packing (fiberglass?) in the one smaller chamber.

I've heard the packing keeps the rasp down, but I've also heard a lot of other things that seem like its just something someone heard someone else say so they are repeating it. Not trying to call anyone out, but its hard to quantify "rasp".

I would think any decent welder could cut it open pack it and weld it back.

Flowmasters and Legato sounds the best. FM is no nonsense been making them longer than the other spin offs and still cheaper too.

I love my NPP. I am NOT putting headers on my car. So which system gives a nice deep tone, retains NPP functionality?
