Well it’s all done and I could pick it up today if I really wanted to, but they said they’d like to clean it up. I’m just leaving a funeral and I’m beat, it’s cold, cloudy and spitting a misty ice like rain so I told them to keep it and I’ll pick it up next week. Again, I’m in no hurry and these are my friends and thank them for sending me pics along the way and keeping me apprised if everything. Deanna is gonna send me a pic with the lights on when she goes back to the paint shop but to me, this is looking bad ass and better than OEM! In the next 2-3 weeks it’ll get the clear bra installed on it and now I’m thinking maybe a new hood, either 6LE Design or AA all aluminum hood, going Blue Velvet with center cowl gloss black. As my buddy in SoCal says, cars are always a work in progress..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Let the salivating begin! LL
Love this and glad I did it my way, on my on time since it’s my dime. The pics are rolling in. I live roughly 6 miles from the shop and at my age of 62 revolutions around the sun. I have patients and calm in my cool! Mad props to Connan’s Paint And Body in Zionsville, IN Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks great! Did they feather the hood and Qtr panels to blend match the paint?

They have some process they do to make it come match. I’ve seen them use LED lighting and various templates with hues and shades of color. These guys are really really good at what they do.
I know had I gotten OE parts that Mike Williams was selling (bumper, hood, fenders) they told me they would need to go into painting the doors and I wasn’t trying to do all that, thus me buddy getting this IKON bumper and needing to sell it before trading his car prior to deployment. It all worked out on a $640 bumper cover. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks! I’ve been looking at it more and more the past 12hrs and probably will order it on Monday. Need to speak to my shop on having it dropped shipped to them and getting it on their paint schedule. The center cowl comes gloss black and I hope it’s a real good glass black paint quality. Looks real good, I like the car color. I originally wanted the AA one but after seeing the ikon on and the softer less pointyness of it I like it a lot better.

Yea they both have their own uniqueness but for me the AA was too hard with its lines. I had a hard time getting the IKON but the AA was readily available. Had it not been for a buddy who just got the IKON and was selling his car I would have been a$$ out. It all came together. Regrets? Wish I had gotten the switchback DRL’s which I may later on, not getting the hood months ago since I’ve been sitting on this project since last September/October and just entered into finalization 3wks ago.
It’s all good though..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks awesome. I'm jealous! I'd buy that bumper too if I hadn't already had expel installed.

XPel is the first thing I do to every car I get, just makes sense in preserving the look and finish. I didn’t drive my car 2 months waiting to have it covered, and not wanting to get any chips or blemishes prior to the film. I’ll get this one done as well to protect my investment, just like I added the ZL1ADDONS screen to protect behind it, which GM should have done with this design. I know ZL owners who talk about all the debris they collect in the front of that radiator and the hits you see in the fins of it.
I’ll have a like new bumper cover W/XPel on it in my basement until I find a buyer in need of a bumper cover, and possibly a hood as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, my work here is done. I’ll pick the car up tomorrow when I get back from the gym, and bring my old parts home weather permitting. We only got a dusting of the predicted 4” and it’s all gone and streets are clear and dry. This has been a great ride and appreciate the compliments and suggestions. I’ll order the new hood tomorrow and I’m currently researching whether the OE drip tray will work on the AA hood.
Good luck to others who do this mod and don’t make it a one day deal. Take your time and do it right.... Peace! Before and after.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The fit on yours looks better imo than others i've seen, especially around the fenders. Great transformation!
