New Era Air intake

Anybody using a New Era Air intake? I installed on on my 2013 SS and now my idle stumbles a little. I had a K&N Typhoon prior with no issues. Car does have a tune. Tunecwas done with the K&N installed. New ERA has been on for a couple hundred miles now. Any thoughts?

Give New Era a call. I was just there yesterday. They are an awesome shop and I'm sure will help you trouble shoot any issue.

Had similar issue, when i noticed the MAF connection was not actually fully seated. Once it was fully plugged in issue was gone.

Just read that the car was tuned with the other intake on. I would either get it retuned or put the stock tune back on and see if that fixes anything. You might have idle issues because of a leak somewhere or it might just need to be retuned.

Would not think that one CAI versus another would change a custom tune. Why did you switch from one to another?

MAF scaling for an OTR is very different than all of the others with same pipe style and diameter. Changes in pipe diameter also requires tuning mods.

Yes, metal plate is installed. I switched after reading about the intakes and one came up for sale at a good price. I figured I would give it a try. I did not notice any difference except for the rough idle and a little hood turbulence, at high speed, I guess from the extra ai thats coming in from tilting the radiator forward.

It's high time for someone to data-log with this type of intake on, while experiencing this idle hiccup, and end this debacle once and for all.
