Brembo Brake Rubbing on Tire Counterweights

So I got some Forgestar D5 17x10 and Mickey Thompson street r 305/45/17s. The counterweights the shop installed seems to rub on the brembo brakes and was wondering if I can bend the part that's rubbing. Saw a video of a guy reviewing a different rim, think they were 17x11s, and he said he got those sizes cause he didn't want to bend the brakes like other people. I didnt know if this is what he was talking about. I'm gonna take it back to the shop today and see if they can move them. I read forums saying these rims and tires fits stock Zl1 setups so maybe the counterweight are just put in a bad spot.

Pretty sure you can ask a shop to balance the tires so that the weights are on the other side and explain that the weights are running against the caliper.

If he road force balanced them then the machine will specify if it wants the weights in the inner barrel or closer to the face.

I ended up having to run some small hub centric spacers to make mine work (and I don’t even have wheel weights lol).

Scrape those weights off before they wear a hole in your calipers hard piped brake line.

I use this in all my motorcycles (Way better then weights) and have used it in a couple cars that had balancing issues. maybe look into it if the weights continue to be a problem.

get your shop to shift the weights away from that exact spot where contact will be made...not a difficult task for any tire shop

Thanks, everyone. I was able to just get the shop to move the weights. It seems to be good now.
