Ordered a 2022 ZL1 1LE but having second thoughts

I ordered a 2022 ZL1 1LE from a dealer with allocation last week. I’m hearing about 6 months or so for delivery. That being said I’ve only ever driven a ZL1 and I’ve only taken a ride in a 1LE for about 20 minutes on the highway. The ride in the 1LE wasn’t bad at all. But I’m worried about longer trips. This is just a weekend fun car and don’t plan on tracking it. I do want the looks of it as well.

I know you can mod a ZL1 to make it look like a 1LE. Any thoughts on this? Most of my friends are telling me to get the 1LE since it will only come out on every other weekend.

I also need to find someone in Columbus, OH who has one that I can take another ride in. Not sure if there is another thread that I need to ask this question in. I’m fully vaccinated and I can pay for gas.

ZL1 because its better for long road trips. and if you want the ZL1 1LE look just swap the bumper and add a spoiler and be done. You dont want to do a road trip in a ZL1 1LE unless you okay with have a fully focused track car.. the suspension between the two is different.

Ha! We're in the same boat my friend. I also ordered a 1LE about 2 months ago and had second thoughts and changed it to a regular ZL1. I created another thread as to what my concerns were for the 1LE and the feedback I received really helped me in sticking to a ZL1. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=596448

I’m leaning more towards the 1LE and then if I really want something softer I can throw on some coil overs for that. I was going to price out a normal ZL1 with a spoiler so the price is basically a wash.

Plus, if I really like the car the way it is then I have it set up already. I will be swapping out the tires for the PS4S though.

You do raise good points. The chance of my taking. The ZL1 on a long trip is probably extremely small. That will be our Model Y P. or whatever daily car I get next year.

I'm in the reverse spot, I ordered a ZL1 but not the 1le package and sometimes think I should have, but I will never be at the track.

Should go with a ZL1 instead. I'm sure you can take long trips in any car including the Zl1-1LE. Doubt it would be ideal though after awhile...at least for me.

I think the ZL1 looks way better than the boy-racer tacked on look of the ZL1-1LE ....but that's me.

SS 1LE and regular ZL1 should have similar suspension and they have the same wheel/tire size (big impact on ride comfort).
the ZL1 1LE is a different beast. That car IMHO is 80% track 20% road, whereas the regular ZL1 is 80% road 20% track.

Yeah that's where I am now. I told my sales guy to not make any changes. He does have an allocation so GM should be accepting the order soon. Hopefully I don't have to wait 6 months.

6 months would be an amazing time frame for a ZLE

Agreed 100%. I had a 2017 ZL1 and it was a pleasure compared to my buddies' 1LE. Just miserable. Except in corners.
