Is it totaled?

Can’t make this up. Bought this car Monday at 5:30, 2019 manual 2ss, 6 hours later a deer runs right out in front of me. Is it totaled? No airbags deployed, seat tensioners locked up though.

Oh... man, that is a huge bummer... Sorry to see that. No, I don't think it's totaled. Repair cost will need to be over the value of the car. I doubt that's the case.

Bummer! Six hours of ownership- so sad.

Unless there is a lot of hidden damage which is not likely with a deer strike - the repair costs should below market value enough to deem the car repairable.

Good luck.

The alignment felt perfectly fine, however I hit a bump driving the car to the body shop and it felt so bad. Could there be frame damage?

It's unlikely to be totaled, and from these pics I don't think there is frame damage either, impact absorption in the front is supremely done (don't ask me how I know ). The weirdness you felt when hitting a bump could be from a displaced part.

Give her to a good body shop and they should take care of this. Wait times may be excessive, unfortunately

Hard to say if it’s a total of not. Wait for the insurance adjuster to check it out before thinking it might total. Just depends on the damage and the cost to repair it. Good luck!

I used to work in auto collision field no that won’t be totaled it looks mainly cosmetic. It depends on your insurance provider but typically unless the cost to repair is over 50% of the value of the vehicle they won’t total it(the percentage varies by provider).

Wow, that sucks...glad you're OK.

Based on my experience with a GTI a couple of years ago - make sure the adjuster gives a FULL estimate before repair work starts. The idiot that did mine took a cursory look and told the shop to start working on it. The more they tore it down to fix it, the more stuff they found - over and over and over. By the time the cost of repair came up to where they should have totaled it, they had already spent too much to back out of it, and flat out refused to total it. Insurance company spent a ton, shop made a ton, and I'm the one that got screwed...
