Catch can for SS?

Hi guys

I know this probably has been talked about a lot but I kinda wanna get a latest update on the catch can question

I’m planning to get a mishimoto catch can for my SS I am just wondering is it necessary for a stock ish none turbo Camaro? I heard it helps but Chevy didn’t put one on maybe cuz it doesn’t need it?

My SS is pretty much stock, it has Borla axle back and rotofab intake only

I have a Mishimoto on my 2020 SS, it catches about a shot glass worth of oil every 1,000 miles or so... I figure that is a bunch of oil NOT going on my valves... Is it necessary, probably not, does it help? Well it is catching something that would have gone into the intake and likely baked on, so I'll say it helps...

My guess is GM didn't put one on because it would be another maintenance item and one that, if neglected, could cause serious engine damage (imagine a catch can getting full and then siphoning pure liquid into the intake (vs. the vapor it is catching and condensing)). GM didn't want to be liable for those instances...

Make sense. Appreciate it.
