Making the ZL1 to the ZLE switch
For those in here who made the ZL1 to the 1LE switch, did you have any regrets? I have been going back and forth for months about making the 1LE switch. No matter how many times I talk myself out of it, I keep coming back to the 1LE. I have a 19 ZL1 A10 and absolutely love it, but the stance and look of the 1LE is just menacing.
I bought the regular ZL1 because I daily drove it for the first three months of ownership. I no longer DD the Z so I wish I would have just bought the 1LE to begin with. I could make my Z look like a 1LE but after dumping the money on an OEM wing, front and rear aero, wrapping the hood, wheel/stance setup, etc....I might as well just buy a 1LE. Just curious if others made the switch and if you were happy with the decision. Cheers! |

I went from a 2013 GT500 to a 2019 ZL1 /LE. The last Camaro I had was a 5th Gen ZL1 so, that being said, its hard to compare the 5th Gen to a 6th Gen. However, ill throw my two cents in. If your on the fence about going with the ZL1 /LE, do it. Dont let others scare you off with the " it rides to hard to be anything than a track car " stuff. This car is a nasty animal and I love it to death so far. Sure the ride is stiff and its unrefined and it can be a handful on rough roads. However, I guarantee youll love it. If you dont upgrade to the LE, your always going to wish you had. Its a mean car....

From a money stand point. Add up the cost for all the 1LE stuff then figure out how much you are going to lose out on in selling your car to buy a ZLE

I have a ZLE and was worried about the ride because of all the comments here, It drives great. No issues at all. If my wife isn't complaining that should tell you something. She loves going out in the car. It rides like a proper sports car. To each is own but I also think the look is menacing. I haven't had mine out in a while and just took it around the block today but its mean looking car.

I went from a 5th gen ZL1 to a 6th gen ZLE. Definite difference in ride, but I am extremely happy with my choice. It’s a borderline supercar IMO. I must admit I love the attention it gets. Most beautiful car I will likely ever own.

I came from a C7 Z06 to the ZLE.
The ride is more punishing however as soon as I swapped the stock GYers for the PS4S, the ride is 4x better. The ZLE is Track first, Street second.

My ZLE is not a DD. With that said, IMO, anything less than the OEM GY 3Rs that were specifically engineered by Goodyear at the request of Team Camaro for this car are a very noticeable compromise to the ZLEs overall performance and grip (DOT legal). More so, it's intended capabilities as intended by her engineers and manufacturer, are diminished by changing her shoes. OP, if this is a decision based purely on the aesthetics of the car, please chose wisely, the ride of this machine has chafed many a tender buttocks. If you want world class performance at 1/3 of the cost, this may just be the car for you.

I didn't switch from a ZL1 to a ZL1LE but this is my second 1LE car. First was a 95 when the ride and suspension wasn't much changed from the Z28 maybe save for a thicker panhard bar, the lack of all creature comforts, and no auto available....
In this day and age a quick ride in my 2018 ZL1 1LE you know you are riding in a capable vehicle..... Road, track, curves, mountain roads it gobbles it all up.... But i'd never call this a daily driver.... it's just too much car..... I think you would tire of it if forced to drive it each and every day... Plus the aero and all that subjected to commuter highways, rocks, flying debris.... nope.....

Most important question...are you planning to get heavy into track day's/HPDE's?

I bought this car based on it's looks and performance. When I saw it for the first time, I knew I had to have it. I didn't have to drive far to feel how capable this car was. I'm still amazed, that after 1 1/2 yrs. of ownership, how a car with so much power can be so easy and fun to drive. I still haven't seen another in town like it. Believe me, once you make the switch, you won't look back.

I made the switch and the only regret is giving up the A10, but now that's not an issue so I say go for it.
