ZL1 problems?
Hi! I am moving to Europe soon, which means that there is almost no service for this car (not official anyway). I want to upgrade to a ZL1 and I want to know what to expect. More interested in mechanical problems, engine, transmission etc. Things that I cannot just order overseas and install myself or at a random shop.
Thank you! |

My ZL1 has been problem free for the 3 years I've owned it. I haven't had 1 issue. So I'm not going to be much help.

Coming up on 2 years with mine and 23k. Slight oil consumption that I've been monitoring so far, but that's it.

How long are you going to live in Europe? Is this permit or temperary? You might can make major coin selling a ZL1 in Europe. Kind of like selling a Skyline GTR in N/A.

It’s permanent. I want to keep an SS or ZL1 for as long as I can, that’s why I’m asking what to expect in the long term (not thinking at the resale value, I will never sell the car)

I have had my 2018 Red Hot ZL1 with the M6 transmission for just under 2 years now (bought her in April 2018).
I have just under 16,000 miles on her and have had zero issues. As one poster said, it does consume some oil (about 1 additional quart every 4000 miles for me). So, keep an eye on the oil level. I enjoy every drive in mine.

I have owned my 2017 ZL1 for about a year now and no problems as of yet. I bought it used with less than 500 miles and like SteveV, I enjoy every time I drive it except for when all the careless/distracted drivers are around me on the roads.
