Either way I'd wait. Weather you want a 2019 or a 2020. If you wait for the 2020 the 19 will get better incentives. I went 2019 becuase I wanted black and it hides the grille very well. If any other than black is what you want, I'd go with a 2020.

All this is to say preferences are highly subjective and OP would be best off test driving a few Camaros of different trims and options and then making a call, also considering the front end design differences. The 2020 announcement is around the corner, it may well be worth waiting for to see the exact changes.

To me budget and "want to" are the biggest factors.
I want to get out of my shuddery V6 even though I've only had it 2.5 years. The transmission is a huge disappointment along with some much more minor build quality issues. Aside from that I felt like the V6 was the much better buy compared to the SS, which I still think was way over-engineered for the average customer. Last year I got to drive a modern V8 for the first time and I haven't forgotten that feeling of torque at the wheels. Plus it's going to sound like a muscle car should. I think the LT1 looks classy with that bumper. I don't like the new RS/SS headlights--they look like eyeliner to me--so not having those lights is no loss. I'm completely lost on why anyone would want to option out the LT1 anyway. |

Don’t forget your car insurance is gonna be at least triple on a v8 than a v6 if that makes any difference to you

I don't know if I should get that 18 2SS that's still on sale down the road or check out the 19 or 20? List price on the 18 is 48k and they want 36 for it now. I'm still thinking about a low mileage 18 Challenger SRT, but its about 8k more and the Camaro price is almost too good to pass up.

I strongly disagree with the last paragraph and it's mostly based on potentially incorrect assumptions. Some people will only buy a V8 Camaro/Muscle car and were not wild about the 16-18 SS look, like the 19 even less but find the LT1 to be juuuust right. I would want some options but I find the spoiler, front, interior disco lights on the 2ss to be very off putting. We don't know exactly how high a LT1 can be optioned. |

If you can find a leftover '18 SS in manual, you'll probably get $8K off MRSP (or more). If going automatic, I would skip the '18 and get a '19 A10. The A10 is awesome and most likely no shudder to worry about like the A8 had. I'm bias b/c I have a '19 but the front end of the '19 doesn't bother me one bit. I actually like it. If you want to pay the most $, get a 2020. |
