WTH is going on... off road pipes. EPA?
Stainless works discontinued all headers with off road pipes, corsa just discontinued their double xpipe which removed secondary cats. They have a new CAT connect which keeps the secondaries. New guidance from EPA? I hope this doesn’t continue. Maybe just coincidence? 😡

Been coming for some time now.. Borla had to stop production of their off road X pipe that deleted the secondary cats a few years ago now. EPA was going to fine them out of existence. Other companies are following suit now. Just took them a little longer.

Yep that’s our government and EPA in action. It’s sad but true.

Ok, Imma be the asshole, - being behind/next to/near - a black cloud is not fun at all, especially when "they" think it is funny or cool.
So to me the problem became - when the end user thought it was cool to be an asshat instead of just performance. ' So I blame them.

I say everything should go back to straight pipes, headers, and leaded gas.

Well... atleast they haven’t taken down the ones with catalytic converters yet.. they could technically go for those too since any modification to the catalytic converter and it’s location is technically federally illegal unless using a CARB certified exhaust.. it’s crappy but it was only a matter of time.

I saw a video on youtube about a year ago in Kalifornia a guy had a Challenger and the officer who pulled him over gave him s*** made him open his hood up and said he didn't have a CARB certified sticker on his Cold Air intake. I think he was pulled over for his exhaust and it wasn't even that loud. |

Well, truthfully while it’s all illegal I can’t help but feel that they aren’t doing this to save the environment but rather push up demand in the EV market where they will in some way get a kickback. I’m actually very much so pro going green but I’m heavily against the methods they’re using to get us there. I’m alittle worried about it TBH.
That stated I have a cam and LT’s on my 99 Z28 but went with high flo cats. It’s expensive but I hate the smell of no cats. I intended to do LT’s and Hi Flo cats on my 6th Gen SS. That and a cam... it’s sounding like if I want that stuff, I’m going to have to hurry up and get it. |
