First day on a track - check

First time in a 650 hp street legal race car - check

Raining sideways - check

As bad as this lap was, it was my fastest

Congrats! Note your PDR is set up for a strip. Change the setting for a road course and you'll get a lot more relevant data overlay wise. Enjoy! Cheers!

If you get the chance to drive on Nascar banking at speed, I highly recommend it!
The car's PDR said 1.68g max and Harry's Lap timer on my phone said 1.78g max!

SCCA Track Night events at Charlotte Roval and the Daytona 24 hour course are the cheapest ways I know of to do it. NASA and others offer multi-day and/or higher priced events at Daytona if you want to get an in-car instructor and/or more laps.

Cosworth Toolbox. It is a free program for Windows that gives tons of detailed data per session/lap when you use it to open the video file from your car. You can also compare two laps with using corner speed numbers, side by side synced videos, and dots on a satellite photo of the track.

The dot on the traction circle overlay in the video gives you a visual representation of g forces too.

How did the green 5th gen compare?
Did you hold him off, or was this after you passed him up?
Looks like a purpose built machine.

Track Test & tune day

That is an A-Sedan race car driven by John Blanchard at Waterford Hills. We went out together and did a few laps like this and we switched and I chased him a few laps. I kept up with him pretty good, margin was consistent. We had fun!

Nice!

In the first pic the 5th gen looked pretty serious, was wondering how a stock 1LE faired against it.

Trick is in tires, he was wearing Pirellis 305’s slicks all around on 18” 2 piece super lightweight wheels. They took 4-5 laps to get to temp. I was on over the hill OEM’s. So when mine were starting to give up, his were coming up. He then had me in the corners but we were pretty much the same straight line. He didn’t pull on me, nor I on him!

insane weekend at COTA with Chin Motorsports. the advanced group was basically an IMSA race so the lower groups were packed with a lot of other quick folks/cars. i was on the track with a lot cars i felt like i had no business sharing a track with but it was a lot of fun.
