TCM Removal
So I cannot seem to find a good video or anything about removing the TCM on my 2018 ZL1. I need to send it to HP Tuners to have it unlocked so Ted J can do his magic on it! I have seen a couple of folks say you can go thru the passenger side fender well but most folks are saying remove the front end of the car. Any help on this is greatly appreciated!

I removed the whole bumper to get to mine. I did have a conversation with Ted Jr and he was able to manage going through the wheel well on a car. But good luck with that. I know there is a video, explaining how to go through the wheel well.

The Tuning School has a video showing removal on an SS. Looks to be in the same spot. I’ve been planning to take mine out, but haven’t been super motivated since the car actually runs very well as it is. My plan is to remove the wheel liner and get it that way. I’m confident it can be done that way — at least if you’re used to working in tight spaces on modern cars.

Exactly man...I didn’t think it could be done, but I’m sure someone out there, will find away to prove this theory wrong.

Tcm
I removed mine with the bumper still on. Went one hand through the wheel liner and the other through the fog light grill. Had to pull that plastic out of the way some behind the fog light. Wasn’t easy but didn’t want to take the whole bumper off again.

I am gonna have to call you houdini!!! I looked at this thing for a couple hours before I made the decision to pull the bumper... I take it the 2017 is no different than the 2018??

Lol yea it wasn’t easy took a while to get my hands in the right places and had to move some of the plastic brake ducts around. I think they are pretty much the same between 18 and 17. Was determined not to take that bumper off again been off several times already.
