This. After 60 ZL1 will leave mustang like it’s standing still.

I love lining up with stock A10 Mustangs at Atco. Even on stock tires. Easy to reel in. But put a supercharger on one and mid to low 10s are possible without spending much. I have driven a two of those FI Rustangs. They are a rush at the strip. But no Camaro on the street.

I almost added FI to my '16 SS, then believe it or not my wife insisted on moving to the ZL1. After seeing me spend ZL1+ $$ on my 5th gen twin turbo 1LE, she did not want to see me go through that trail of tears again.

I went A10 ZL1 after driving one.

As has been said 1/4 times are not the whole end game in a toy car. With the ZL1 we have a world class super car with a forged motor ready for wherever we want to go. Fast, fun, and competent everywhere and the ZL1 is also a very good long distance GT. And girls keep asking for rides.

I am not sure the ZL1 can be improved upon in any significant way except for visibility.

People act like the A10 magically transforms the Mustang into some super car. It's a low 12 second car that can occasionally dip into the 11s like the SS.

The SS is its competition, not the ZL1. Yeah you can modify any car to be faster than another, so? Put 8k into the Mustang, blah, blah, blah. In the long run it's NEVER just 8k or whatever number the kit cost. When you check everything that has to be upgraded or replaced along the way, the lost time, and the fact that the warranty (assuming there was one) is toast, the cost is usually a lot more.

As for value for money, the Mustang is overpriced. The SS is a more complete and reliable car. The current Coyotes and Voodoos are junk, plain and simple!

Now that publications and owners are figuring out how to properly launch the A10 GT and with good Fall air it is fast no doubt it may give a manual ZL1 a bit of a hard time but it will not run with a A10 ZL1 stock lets not be silly.

Have had autos in some past Camaros. Not gonna have one when I get a ZL1 even if it’s slower or has the bog issue. I just add 2 seconds in my mind onto any automatic tranny time because that’s the way I roll. 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile, mile or road course. Not that I have hit the track much. Always gonna be something faster out there.

No mystery. The SS A8 or A10 also can run faster than a M6 ZL1 or Hellcat Widebody. One doesn’t buy a manual if maximum stright line speed it the objective.

Overall, Chevy is doing alright.
C/D TEST RESULTS:

2017 ZL1 6-speed manual
Zero to 60 mph: 3.7 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.0 sec @ 122 mph
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...al-test-review

2017 GT350R 6-speed manual
Zero to 60 mph: 3.9 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.2 sec @ 119 mph
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...-driver-page-2

2018 Hellcat Widebody 6-speed manual
Zero to 60 mph: 4.0 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.4 sec @ 120 mph
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...al-test-review

2019 Mustang Bullitt 480 HP 6-speed manual
Zero to 60 mph: 4.2 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.4 sec
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...t-drive-review

2018 Mustang GT 6-speed manual
Zero to 60 mph: 4.3 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.6 sec @ 115 mph
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...al-test-review

Didn’t Car and Driver also just report that they ran a SS M6 at 0-60 in 4.0 sec and the 1/4 mile in 12.2 sec?

Yes ...they did.

Yes I do remember this C&D article the very one that stated the A10 GT was a tenth and 2-mph faster than the A10 SS

The difference is GM dropped the ball with the LT1. It needs better pistons. Coyote is forged since like 2016 I believe. Its crazy that we can grab a junk yard LS and throw more boost to it than you can an LT1.

With boost out of the equation I agree.
