I went to Atco last night.....

No dyno here, but in my view this is even more powerful. Part of my Atco report from last night below. Take from it what you will.

Also in full disclosure I am wearing a Rotofab TShirt they gave me some time ago. I am wearing it today to work! Of course I work from home with my huge dog Millie. She approves. I can also say the RF shirt is one of the coolest looking Tshirts I have. Almost as good as my Great Dane shirt.

************************************************** *************

The DA was around +1300 with windshields fogging up from the moisture. I did not expect much.

But I was testing my new Rotofab Dry. I have done track testing in the past with isolated changes. One test was in my 5th gen stock 1LE where I installed a CAI CAI, scoop, and DRs and picked up a full 1/2 second. Wowza!

I wasn't expecting much as my Rotofab dry on my '16 SS gave only 5 rwhp on the JRE Dyno. But it was pretty! Here as the ONLY change on my stock A10 ZL1 it made a noticeable difference. I was pleasantly surprised as an Internet HP expert recently told me the RF would kill my 60'. No such thing happened. My 60's were mif 1.7s to mid 1.8s.

And my ET
got a boost! Recent Comparative DA slips posted Below. Over the last month I struggle to get into the 1.5s. One of those slips below where i squeaked in.

Now in not so good weather 11.5s are a breeze!

My runs:

11.549@124.124
11.520@121.65
11.503@123.14
11.501@122.90
11.499@122.50

I didn't notice a difference on the street, but the track proves the improvement.

I ran 11.6 without Roto-Fab and 11.3 with which would put me right at the top of the bone stock fast list for LT4. Others on that list have way more mods that just a CAI.

Roto-Fab is going back on my new car this week.

I installed a Roto-fab CAI on my 18 primarily because I hate the look of the factory air box. Any power increase is a big +. I also had a roto-fab on my Gen 5 ZL1. Most of these posts are regarding the HP gains and I would like to add something else, Quality. From the instructions to the parts and packaging, Roto-fab is top notch. The new set-up fits perfectly and the install was super easy. These guys are the kings of CAI systems in my book.

Does anyone have any experience or comparison of the roto-fab to the weapon-X cold air induction system??

From your time slips, you can see you appear to be slower slightly in your 60' time, and still slower to 330', but gaining ground that you lost in the 60'. But you can see there is more top end pull due to the Rotofab. I could tell my car pulled harder after it was installed. There is no doubt the open filter design on the Rotofab is much better than the closed air box, especially on a blower car. However there is some over reporting of air in the low throttle lower HZ range, that I think does not allow the full benefit of the increase in air flow to be realized. This can be corrected with a MAF adjustment, and the car will get the full benefit. The car will always be safe with the Rotofab without a tune, and wont throw a CEL, but is not optimized with the stock tune. My $.02.

Just to clarify: to make a "MAF Adjustment" following RF installation, the vehicle computer must be tuned? Or is there a non-tuning method of adjusting the MAF?

Thanks!

Tuning calibration is required to correct MAF scaling. You can log to see the fueltrims are negative without tuning if you have logging software like HP tuners. No wideband is required either. To correct WOT MAF you will need a wideband however.

We are testing that next week but no issues are anticipated. Nothing has changed inside the fender well.

I think my car is proof that the Roto-Fab is a solid design. My almost 133 mph trap speeds in ~+1300 DA show that, though I did do some tuning to correct the MAF curve. My car was pig rich prior to that.

Really all I have other than the intake is a ported stock TB and some catted headers. Oh, and a 160 thermostat. Seeing the difference in ET and trap speed in similar DA (with my 60’ times not being much better) says a lot. I haven’t had it on the dyno, but I figure it must be making some power.

Can't tell if I'm misreading your post, but it sounds like you're claiming anyone faster than you on the stock list is modded and have way more than a CAI?

Oddly my fastest time was one of my slower 60's. I had one other 1.8 and the rest were 1.74-1.78 as I remember that night. I threw out those slips. :( With good track prep about 75% of my 60' are 1.7s. 1.74 is my best so far on the stock GYs. DRs are on now so I should see a bit better.

I am not saying you are wrong about the MAF adjustment. You seem to know a lot more about this than me. All I can say I have not seen an increase in my 60's so far with the RF. But no decrease either.
