Is this reasonable to ask for when buying a new 2018?

New car, last year’s model. Is it reasonable to ask the dealership to update Nav and infotainment software before picking up/buying the car?

Seems like a logical request, but wanted to ask.

Also, I’d like to see if they’d sell me a OEM windscreen at their cost. They won’t budge anymore on price, so I guess it doesn’t hurt to try.

seems like they should update nav before you pick it up.

Of course they should install the latest softwareupdates before selling the car.

The dealerships exist to make you happy, not the opposite.
If they really want to sell the car, they should be very willing to meet your requests.
You may have to "walk out the door" to get their attention.

just so you know it wont be updated to the 2019. thats a different system and there is no update besides the NAV update for the 18 mylink if it has NAV. if you do have NAV insist they update it if there is a update for the 18s. there is for the 17s @$139. All the updates since i bought my 17 have updated on there own when you hook the car up to wifi. You will get 4gigs free if you start the 6mo free trial onstar. you can also hook the car up to your home wifi to get the updates. why do you want a new windshield? dont you have free glass with your insurance? its very cheap to add no deductible glass. if you have decent insurance.

I should have bought a ZL1

o i was thinking maybe he or she was british. they shouldn't have a problem with selling at cost. i got 4 studded snows with my truck for cost. you could probably by it somewhere else for their cost so look into it befor you ask.

Yes, there is a 2019 nav map update for the '18's for the same price. OP, do ask them to install it (and swallow the price )

Is there an easy way to check if it's up to date? I'm picking up tomorrow or Friday. I've been told they'll update everything, but something tells me they won't even check.

Yep, on your Infotainment screen select Settings > Software Information > Map Information. The version number should match the V.2019 map update part number 84513064.

Here's the product info.

Recently got an offer for the update. Was cheaper to buy a garmin GPS, and never pay for an update again.

I've used my factory Nav only once or twice, and Bluetooth hardly ever, on my 2018 2SS.
This is because I use Apple Car Talk for its simplicity and dependability.
