The Range works for both V8 and V6.

Says so right on their website:

"Keeps your vehicle in V8 (or V6) mode.
Disables 4 (or 3) cylinder mode for
GM (AFM) Active Fuel Management vehicles
and also Start/Stop disable for GM vehicles"

My bad, last time I checked before I bought the car it was not available. Good deal!

Just installed my Range AFM disabler today and couldn't be happier. The device eliminates the issues I had when cruising along and the V4 mode kicked in, leaving my MRT V2 to drone obnoxiously and the tranny to shudder. This has been a great investment especially since I drive 65 miles each way to work five days a week in a variable number of backroad/highway conditions. Might try the Vitesse throttle controller next just to add to the experience.

With the mrt v1, v4 mode just kind of pulses a bit more noticably with the cylinder firing than v6.

If you have issues with the transmission, you might want to look into that sooner than later. Switching between v6 and v4 should not cause any shudders or transmission feedback. Should be smooth and seamless in and out.

Trifecta says the 2017 do not need a transmission unlock. Idk why overkills says it does.

It's about halfway down the page:

I think it's a misprint as the 16 is the only one with a unlocked TCM. 17-18's need it unlocked.
