God awful mileage?

When I first got my car 4 months ago during the summer when I first filled up the display would say approximately 430 miles. Now I am seeing maybe 300-320 at fillup. I have a K&N intake, Mace insulator, and flowmaster exhaust. I removed the terminal from the battery every time also. It's bitter cold up here in the Northeast righ now. Would this affect it. I always allow it to idle down and warm up before going anywhere. It's just 200 miles for 3/4 of a tank is not fantastic. I would think this was about 15 miles per gallon, a 1/2 of what I am potentially supposed to be getting.

The Fuel Range indicator is not always correct.
Have you actually tracked the miles using the odometer?

I usually restart the trip meter at every fill up. I Just so happened to flip it to this screen cause I havn't done it in a while. I was just taken back a little. I did notice that I drove ten miles to work and it went down 1 mile. Maybe I'm being paranoid lol.

The same thing happened to me after installing my underdrive pulley and having the computer reset to learn the new pulley. Insteadof the usual "330" miles, the indicator would read "225". But then i ran it against the odometer, and the same thing would happen, I would drive 10 and it would decrease by 1.

True story. I was having a similar problem with gas milage. The gas pedal was getting stuck to the floor at times. I never find out what was causing it, my foot was always in the way at the time.

LOL! Yeah that's not the case as it's negative temperatures up here and I have my snapshot from progressive in. I'm on track to take 20% off my car insurance for the summer and then I can drill it lol!

I'll check it out. If it's not accurate I won't worry about it to much.

If using ethanol or a gas anti freeze you can expect a 3-5 mpg decrease. You state that you are allowing warm up of engine, which also decreases your fuel mileage. Add in that it is colder and you will probably see why it is a big difference. I see this happen every winter on my DD.

If you warm up the car for 10 minutes and then drive for 10 minutes at 30 mpg, your calculated mileage is 15 mpg.
