But have you driven the car a hundred miles or so and exposed it to many off on key cycles before putting the seat back in and then try and get rid of the light and or code? When removing the seat I believe you have to unplug the seat belt wire as well as the air bag wire (the complete harness?) so there would be a supplemental restraint system fault as well as a airbag fault.

Know you are asking ULTRAZLS1, but I have done it. Took the passenger seat out, put a floor jack and tire in it's place, drove over 300 miles each way to NJ. The computer was mad while the seat was out, airbag warning light was on. When I got back from Jersey and reinstalled the passenger seat, the airbag warning light cleared by itself.

Airbag light goes on and if you have heated/cooled seats they become disabled also...obviously I am referring to the drivers seat still in the car. Once you reinstall the passenger seat and plug it in, the light goes out.

The problem I have found is that a lot of the scanner companies don't even try to make their stuff compatible with a car that will still be under warranty. You can see it right from the manual PDFs, a lot of the compatibility lists end 2 or 3 years prior. That said, scan tools with ABS and SRS capabilities have become pretty affordable.

Great to know, thanks bud. Us drag racers do all kinds of crazy shit, just didn't want to fuss with a air bag light that wont go out. What did you do, just install the seat when you got home, plug in all the electronics and then start the car?

Getting ready to pull mine out to save some weight since I put the roll cage in which added some additional weight, not sure exactly what the front seat weighs buy I'd guess 50 lbs.

Small piece of advice. I place a rubber yoga mat on the sill, the seat is big/bulky and the opening in not that large. The seat bracket can easily gorge it if you are not careful.
