Borla vs Corsa Ultimate Comparison (with video)

Hey all,

Here's a video comparing the Borla S-Type and Corsa Sport axle backs. My car has Kooks 1 7/8" headers, no cats, and a Borla X-Pipe that deletes the secondary cats. The reason I did the S-Type and the Sport over the Atak and Xtreme is that those are simply too loud with headers; I love loud cars but those two axle backs make you feel like you're racing the Daytona 500 when all you're trying to do is pull out of the gas station.

I'm having a hard time picking which one I want to keep, and I hope this video also helps forum members pick their exhaust. Which do you like better?

So tbh I don't hear much difference except the Corsa gets slightly louder. Video for reference

Thank you very much for the comparison, this pretty much eliminates an axle back option for me. I'm going 2" off road catless headers on the stock non npp exhaust, just wish the suitcase wasn't so damn heavy.

I want to see how crazy it will sound, but if it doesn't sound good to my liking, I will switch back to the S-Type.

In my opinion, I like the sound of the Borla Axle backs paired with catless headers more than Corsa. I will say Corsa's tips and quality are better than Borla's, but you lose that growl that Borla has over Corsa. In the end, it comes down to what sound you want and like.
I can't speak to an Atak, but I had Xtreme's and it was too loud; my buddy drove the car in front of me and I left that experience feeling like I was going to unintentionally give someone hearing damage. I like the mid level axle backs because I can still drive around quietly enough to not bother anyone if I need to. However, to each their own and good luck to you picking your setup, it will sound insane!

I'm having a hard time hearing a difference as well. The Corsa is more tame around town under light throttle for sure, but when you're on it it's just as loud. The Borla has more of a bark to it and shifting at over 3k RPM has a nice sound in between gears, but it's got a real dump truck sounding idle. Both are phenomenal exhausts and neither drone whatsoever, even with my catless headers. I've learned many times with exhaust that you get what you pay for.

You can get axle backs that sound way better than the suitcase and that come with the NPP valves, just to keep axle backs open as an option for you. I'm a have an addiction to playing around with exhausts, so simply trying to spread my way of life ha

For me, I can clearly hear the rasp in the Corsa and the Borla sounds deeper and cleaner.

Borla sounds much better to my ear, even in videos.

^^^ Same here, the Borla sounds more "throatier" than the Corsa which sounds more "raspier" when you are getting on them. I have the Flowmaster 3" ZL1 Outlaw,Quad catback on my 5th gen and it is very loud, and the drone is obnoxious at highway cruising. I was looking at possibly the Corsa for my Camaro because of the "no drone" aspect, but it is going to be loud again, and I have QTP cutouts for loud. This video comparison, thank sir! Just made up my mind as to which I want. I believe the Borla sounds more "refined" than the Corsa. Oh and I have LT's, off road mids as well.. Nice job.

Both are amazing, the Corsa sounds a bit stronger and more "muscular" to me. I also like their tips much more, Borla tips (except the carbon fiber ones) have these "rolled" edges that make them look very soft.

I agree 100% with you on the tips, the black tips look nice and hide the rolled edge a bit too though.
