Best price on 1SS
What did you pay for your 1SS. I am in the Seattle area and always see the dealer Good Chevrolet advertise a 1SS for around $34-35k. Anyone ever buy from this dealer?

That seems like a very good price for a 1SS assuming it has some options. I've looked at that dealer's inventory and they seem to say their prices are good for WA residents only. Not sure what that is all about?

A lot of the time they will have all rebates Included in that price and you have to qualify.

Considering the dealer invoice for that ($38,790) car is around 37,238 and the holdback is around $1,134. Anything below $36,104 without rebates or incentives will literally be a loss of money to the dealership. I understand that some dealers will take a loss towards the end of a quarter in order to met a quota, but their quarter just ended at the end of Narch and their next quarter won't end until the end of June. Dealerships will advertise via the Internet with the absolute best price possible including ALL incentives, discounts, and rebates under the sun in order to get you to walk through their doors. Once they've got you there, they'll use their sales tactics and experience to confuse and pressure you into signing the paper. People don't like to admit this but face it, a salesman is better at selling cars than you are at buying them. I mean come on, it's what they do for a living. My advice; email multiple dealers, tell them what you want, ask them to give you their best price "out the door" and to have purchase price, processing fees, taxes, and tags broken down so it's as transparent as possible. Know what you want, know the MSRP of it, the dealer invoice is just about exactly 96% of the MSRP price, the holdback is 3% of MSRP (minus the destination charge). Don't let them negotiate this price including rebates, discounts, or incentives. Also, don't settle for anything over dealer invoice. Once you get dealer invoice then have them apply and rebates, discounts, or incentives. This will be how you get the best price on your car. The MSRP of my 1SS is $37,940. Dealer invoice was $36,422. I got them to dip into the holdback and sell the car for $36,150. I then also have a $1,000 private offer, so once that's tacked on, I get the car for $35,150.

I saw one locally online, a black 1SS automatic with the $200 bright painted split spokes, standard exhaust for $36,990 but that price included a $500 insurance company discount. Not too bad I guess, I'm not sure of any other options added but what I've listed comes out to $38,990 MSRP.

Update, got a response from dealer....
Yes, our internet prices are what you get, however, depending on the vehicle, sometimes there is a $1000 conquest rebate that is included, which you may or may not qualify for and that rebate is if you own another vehicle make other than a GM product. But yes, you should qualify for that price. What can I do to earn your business? John Lim |
