Please vote for/list the top 5 high performance mod shops for builds on 2017 - 2020 ZL1 Camaros. In terms of:
1. Competence/professionalism
2. Customer service
3. Prices
4. Results (rwhp & rwtq)

6. Other important factors

I apologize if this has been done before, but I could not find anything.

Well, the problem with “polls” like this is most folks only have experience with one shop and/or do not have meaningful experience with enough shops to make any kind of true comparison. So if there is very little actual experience to quantify any sort of objective comparison, stuff like this ends up being a bunch of “my shop is great” posts with an occasional “that shop sucks” post. Also, the number of variables that go into each individual build makes criteria like the factors you mentioned almost meaningless. It’s all good for forum chatter but that’s about it.

It might be easier to post a list of reputable shops by geographical area or region of the US. That’ll probably have more bearing on where an individual takes their car. It’s hard to ship a car all the way across the country to get built because a shop has a good rep.

My shop is the best! Lol!

With that being said,
J Rods in Houston (never have been but have seen dozens of their builds running stupid fast.
HPS (Houston performance Solutions. Did my build and makes 780whp. Also they have a CTS V3 with Mag2650 running 9.20s. Great CS. Both shops use MS Tuning to do the tunes.

Vengeance from what I hear but prices are on the high side.
Weapon X as well but prices are high from what I’ve seen too.

Complete street. No experience but they have a lot of fast builds. Watch their videos!

Race Proven: tons of ZL1 builds

Cordes performance: sick builds and know what they are doing. Have no idea on prices but their builds are fantastic.

All shops listed will not do it wrong. Some will just cost a bit more for the same.

If distance is not a factor, I'd go with Katech. I've heard great reviews, and a friend had a Corvette race motor built by them that was a monster and very reliable. They offer a 3 year limited warranty on their work. They aren't cheap, but they seem to provide a lot of value for the money. My dream package is their Magnuson TVS 2650 package with full head rebuild and tune, their quality and attention to detail seems to deliver near OEM fit and finish.

IMO, custom work should always trump OEM. OEM to me is mass produced by someone with a high school education and learns an assembly line of one part. Custom work "should" be done by the best, be the best and puts OEM to shame..... IMO.

OP, if you wanted to stay in TN, DBR Performance in Spring Hill puts together some pretty heavy hitters.

So you are telling me some high schooler designed my cars? I don't know what fantasy world you live in.

What I mean is that when their work is delivered it looks like a factory manufactured install vs. some of the stuff you see from shops that stands out as something added vs. well integrated into the machine.

I get what you're saying, but seems like it applies to low quality mrfs and I personally like the look of my stock ZLE engine bay. The hose lines and wiring, connectors, tubing, shielding and tape work are all very well done.
